<p>The mission of the LSLBC is to protect the health, safety, and general welfare of the public dealing with those engaged in the contracting vocation; to afford such persons an effective and practical protection against the unlawful and fraudulent acts of contractors with whom they contract; and to maintain the integrity of the construction industry. Further, the Board shall monitor construction projects to ensure compliance with the licensure requirements of the statutes.</p> <p>About this Position</p> <p>The Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors is seeking an entry or experienced-level Licensing Analyst for our Licensing Division. This role ensures compliance with state statutes and regulations governing contractor licensing. Analysts review applications, verify credentials, monitor active licenses, and assist with renewals while providing guidance to applicants and licensees.</p> <p>Key Competencies for Success</p> <ul> <li>Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities. </li><li>High attention to detail and accuracy. </li><li>Excellent communication and customer service skills. </li><li>Ability to interpret and apply laws, rules, and policies. </li><li>Experience reviewing financial or legal documentation is a plus. </li><li>Proficiency with data entry, recordkeeping, and office technology </li></ul> <p>Why This Role is Unique and Exciting: </p> <p>Our Licensing Analysts contribute to protecting the public and ensuring qualified contractors are licensed to work in the state. This position offers an excellent opportunity to build a regulatory or public administration career while working in a dynamic, high-impact environment.Three years of experience in the issuance, maintenance, or reinstatement of licenses; OR</p> <p>Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR</p> <p>A bachelor's degree.</p> <p>EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:</p> <p>Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.</p> <p>Job Duties:</p> <p>As a Licensing Analyst, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Interpret and explain licensing laws, rules, and policies to applicants and the public. </li><li>Review and analyze license applications for accuracy and completeness. </li><li>Process payments for fees and fines. </li><li>Conduct investigations and interviews to verify eligibility. </li><li>Assist contractors in determining license type and examination requirements. </li><li>Analyze financial statements, bonds, and property documents for compliance </li><li>Verify credentials, corporate documents, and insurance coverage. </li><li>Prepare official records and recommendations for Board/Agency review </li><li>Assist licensed companies with changes to classifications and qualifying parties. </li><li>Track compliance and maintain accurate records. </li><li>Verify credentials to reciprocating states. </li><li>Assist companies during renewal processes. </li><li>Verify compliance with insurance, continuing education, and qualifying party requirements. </li><li>Communicate with other divisions and agencies regarding licensing and compliance. </li><li>Perform special projects and other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Position-Specific Details:</p> <p>Appointment Type: Probational</p> <p>Career Progression: This position participates in a Career Progression Group.</p> <p>Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. </p> <p>Louisiana is a State As a Model Employer (SAME) that supports the recruitment, hiring, and retention of individuals with disabilities. </p> <p>How To Apply:</p> <p>To apply for this vacancy, click on the "Apply" link above and complete an electronic application, which can be used for this vacancy as well as future job opportunities.
