That's what we do every day.</p> <p>The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.</p> <p>The Ground Systems Support (GSS) organization is looking for a second shift Technical Integrator to support multiple programs for National Aeronautics and Space Administration's (NASA).</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li> <p>The candidate will provide technical planning support primarily for Operations and Maintenance shops to include including Cranes, Doors and Platforms (CDP), Crawler Transporters and Structures (STS), Emergency Egress Systems (EES), Ignition Overpressure and Sound Suppression (IOP-SS), Facility Ground Systems Pneumatics (GPNEU) and secondary back-up support to Launch Equipment Shop (LES).</p> </li><li> <p>A background in production control, preventative maintenance planning, parts and material kitting, logistics inventory processes, and component calibration and cleaning processes are highly desired.</p> </li></ul> <p>High School Diploma or equivalent; four years related experience.</p> <p>This position will be considered at multiple levels. Depending on the candidate's experience, requirements, and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Possess moderate knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs, such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and TEAMS. Must be technically and mechanically inclined.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledgeable in heavy equipment operations, transport and move operations of large objects, lifting/rigging equipment and mobile and/or fixed overhead cranes operations, forklifts, dollies, and slings is a plus.</p> </li><li> <p>Familiar with the concept of work control and the work order lifecycle. Familiar with the concept of preventative maintenance.</p> </li><li> <p>Exhibit concise communication skills daily, both orally and written.</p> </li><li> <p>Exhibit customer service skills daily, required for customer interaction to discuss requirements. Ability to read engineering schematics, drawings, and engineering specifications is a plus.</p> </li><li> <p>Must follow strict work area rules and safety protocols. Decipher work instructions to maximize the efficiency of crews. Must be organized and detail oriented.</p> </li><li> <p>Must be self-motivated, team player comfortable working in a dynamic environment. Experience working with represented employees is a plus.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in Maximo, Solumina and Peoplesoft is highly desired. Proven knowledge in a computerized maintenance/ work management system.</p> </li><li> <p>Functionally skilled in identifying parts/materials needed to support scheduled work activities for various shop disciplines and/or crafts.</p> </li><li> <p>Skilled at recognizing conflicts and possess the ability to collaborate with technical shop into workaround solutions to minimize schedule impact. Must be able to coordinate work between multiple disciplines to ensure work is properly planned.</p> </li><li> <p>Create work orders in Maximo. Review work instructions for completeness.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with engineering on work requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide timely verbal and written communication.</p> </li><li> <p>Actively participate in daily scheduling meetings to understand work priorities, resolve technical planning issues for multiple Ground Systems shops.</p> </li><li> <p>Must comply with all "drug free workplace" requirements as mandated by directives issued by the appropriate federal contracting officer and the company, which requires drug testing for use of illegal drugs by employees in sensitive positions.</p> </li><li> <p>Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relations with customers, clients, co-workers, employees and management.</p> </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li> <p>Will be required to climb stairs to access equipment for trouble shooting, work assignment assessments, engineering evaluation and more.</p> </li><li> <p>Will be required to wear hearing protection, eye protection, hard hat and other associated personal protective equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Position may involve extended periods of sitting or standing.</p> </li><li> <p>Physical requirements are sitting, walking, standing, extensive use of stairs, and access to remote structures. Position is located on a fabrication facility; must be able to quickly evacuate buildings in the event of an emergency.</p> </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <ul> <li> <p>Work Environment requires to work inside and outside throughout the work and shop areas. Position may require daily individual to travel to different areas on site.</p> </li><li> <p>Walking on uneven terrain including paved areas, gravel/rocks, and dirt/ is required to access various locations on the facility.</p> </li><li> <p>Climbing ladders, stairs and potential work at heights may be necessary.</p> </li><li> <p>All work must be completed in a safe manner in accordance with NASA and Company safety standards.</p> </li></ul> <p>Equipment and Machines</p> <ul> <li>Computers and printers used for producing reports and schedules. Variety of equipment used in testing and manufacturing. </li></ul> <p>Attendance</p> <ul> <li> <p>Full-time regular work hours, typically between Monday- Friday.</p> </li><li> <p>Position often requires overtime including weekend and some holidays, depending on operational needs. Must be dependable and punctual.</p> </li><li> <p>Shift work may be required.</p> </li></ul> <p>Other Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>If offered a position, proof of U.S. Citizenship or Legal Permanent Resident/Green Card holder of the United States is required. </li><li>Needs to have clear, concise, and accurate communication skills. </li><li>Must have ability to work well with office staff and customer representatives. </li><li>Government security clearance may be required in the future. </li><li>Must be able to travel to support position requirements. This may include travel to and from customer location, which may involve airline travel.
