<p>Reporting to the Men's and Women's Soccer Head Coach, the Assistant Coach provides assistance to the Head</p> <p>Coach in order to run a successful Soccer program. The Assistant Coach mentors student athletes to help them</p> <p>reach their full potential on and off the field; helps build a program that the University, students, alumni, and</p> <p>community can be proud of. This position will assist in the recruiting of potential student athletes and provide</p> <p>complementary management of the program including practice, competitions, travel, purchasing and other duties</p> <p>as assigned. The Assistant Coach will adhere to institutional, conference, and all other required regulations and</p> <p>policies. The Assistant Coach assists all aspects of recruiting potential student athletes in order to maintain a</p> <p>team that will compete. The Assistant Coach maintains knowledge of all institutional and Conference rules and</p> <p>regulations for recruiting. The Assistant Coach assists in the overall management of the programs as directed by</p> <p>the head coach (travel, practice, competition, etc.) but will have specific responsibilities in athletics also as</p> <p>directed by the Head Coach.</p> <p>Essential Job Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Assists in the organization of practice plans and competition; communicates and assists in demonstrating </li></ul> <p>specific required soccer skills.</p> <ul> <li>Assist and lead the soccer teams as assigned by the Head Coach in training and competition, including </li></ul> <p>demonstrating sport skills, and educating students through drills, physical conditioning, organized play,</p> <p>mental training, team strategy, team meetings, coach-player discussions, and other activities.</p> <ul> <li>Participate in recruitment activities as assigned. </li><li>Adheres to all institutional, Conference and all other rules, regulations and policies. </li><li>Assists in preparing training sessions, including strength and conditioning. </li><li>All other duties as assigned by the Head Coach. </li></ul> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities</p> <p>None</p> <p>Minimum Job Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree from an accredited college required or combination of education and experience </li><li>Minimum of 1-year previous collegiate soccer coaching and/or soccer playing experience at the </li></ul> <p>Collegiate level required.</p> <ul> <li>Must possess excellent written, listening, and verbal communication skills </li><li>Must possess excellent computer and social media skills </li><li>Must be able to successfully complete a background check and the annual NCAA Coaches' recruiting </li></ul> <p>test.</p> <p>Other Competencies (skills, abilities, behavior)</p> <p>Must have a philosophy that is consistent with the Mission, Vision and Core Values of the organization.
