<p>Job Title: Rowlands Commercial Manager</p> <p>Salary: Competitive with company car and excellent benefits</p> <p>Location: Runcorn</p> <p>Hours: Monday to Friday 09.00 - 17.15</p> <p>Rowlands Pharmacy, part of the PHOENIX Group, is looking for a commercially driven and analytically minded Commercial Manager to take a central role in shaping the profitability and performance of our dispensing operations. This is a rare opportunity to join one of the UK's most established community pharmacy networks in a role that directly influences commercial strategy, supplier partnerships and branch-level outcomes.</p> <p>About the Role</p> <p>As Commercial Manager, you will be the key expert responsible for maximising dispensing profitability across Rowlands Pharmacy. This is a hands-on, high-visibility role where no two days look the same - one day you may be negotiating commercial terms with major wholesalers, the next reviewing purchasing trends, supporting operational teams or identifying opportunities to lower cost of goods and improve reimbursement.</p> <p>You will work closely with colleagues across procurement, supply chain, pharmacy operations, commercial finance and the Superintendent's Office to ensure that commercial decisions are well-informed, effectively implemented and aligned with our wider business priorities.</p> <p>What You'll Be Doing</p> <p>This is a broad and influential role, with responsibility for:</p> <ul> <li>Overseeing and maintaining purchasing controls and restriction files to protect margin and support commercial strategy. </li><li>Acting as the main commercial point of contact for key wholesalers and third-party suppliers. </li><li>Analysing purchasing, PI opportunities and dispensing patterns to identify cost savings and margin improvements. </li><li>Negotiating and maintaining commercial agreements that support branch performance and profitability. </li><li>Working with supply chain teams to support stock availability and manage any risks associated with commercial changes. </li><li>Supporting system and process development across pharmacy buying and dispensing platforms. </li><li>Providing reporting and insight to highlight performance trends and commercial opportunities. </li><li>Collaborating with internal stakeholders to maximise the value of product-related pharmacy services. </li></ul> <p>About You</p> <ul> <li>Experience within retail pharmacy or pharmaceutical wholesale procurement. </li><li>A solid understanding of commercial performance, margins and supplier negotiation. </li><li>Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret commercial data. </li><li>Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work with a wide range of teams and external partners. </li><li>Strong organisational skills, a proactive mindset and the ability to multitask effectively. </li><li>Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook). </li><li>Five GCSEs including Maths and English (a degree-level qualification is desirable but not essential). </li></ul> <p>What You'll Get</p> <ul> <li>Company car </li><li>Bonus scheme </li><li>Private health insurance </li><li>25 days (pro rata) annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing with length of service </li><li>Medicash - a health cash plan to support everyday healthcare costs (e.g. eyecare, prescriptions) </li><li>iTrent Financial Wellbeing - an app to help manage and access your pay flexibly </li><li>High street discounts and offers </li><li>Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) </li><li>Contributory Pension Scheme </li></ul> <p>INDPMS</p>
