We are seeking a dedicated Vacation Station Facilitator - Special Needs to help maintain and enhance the quality of our school-age programs.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Vacation Station Facilitator - Special Needs supports the Program Coordinator and Assistant Program Coordinator in planning and supervising a school-age program at an elementary school site. This role is crucial in creating an enriching environment that promotes both academic and social development for students with special needs.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Adapt and Modify Activities: Adjust and adapt classroom activities as needed to meet the individual needs of students. </li><li>Support Adaptive Skills: Assist students with developing adaptive skills, including managing personal belongings, buttoning, snapping, and bathroom routines. </li><li>Monitor Lunch and Social Skills: Oversee and support students during lunch, focusing on developing positive lunch habits and social interaction skills. </li><li>Facilitate Transitions: Help students during transitional periods to make these transitions less challenging and stressful. </li><li>Implement Modified Lesson Plans: Collaborate with teaching staff to create and implement modified lesson plans tailored to the specific needs of individual students. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Education: High school diploma or equivalent (required); completion of 60 college credits in a related field preferred. </li><li>Experience: Relevant job-related experience desired. </li></ul> <p>Skills</p> <ul> <li>Safety Practices: Adherence to safety practices and protocols. </li><li>Communication: Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. </li><li>Record-Keeping: Ability to maintain accurate and thorough records. </li><li>Software Proficiency: Proficiency in standard office software applications. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge</p> <ul> <li>Basic Math: Competency in basic math skills. </li><li>Child Development: Understanding of child development stages and age-appropriate activities. </li><li>Instructional Practices: Knowledge of instructional procedures and practices. </li><li>Safety Regulations: Familiarity with safety practices and district regulations. </li></ul> <p>Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Task Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. </li><li>Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities. </li><li>Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups. </li><li>Problem-Solving: Ability to solve problems independently and make decisions aligned with program goals. </li><li>Confidentiality: Commitment to maintaining confidentiality. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li>Activity: Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling. </li><li>Environment: Typically involves 20% sitting, 50% walking, and 30% standing in a generally clean and healthy environment. </li></ul> <p>We look forward to receiving your application and potentially welcoming you to the FHSD team!</p>
