<p>Job Title: EstimatorJob Description</p> <p>We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Utility-Scale Solar Electrical Estimator to support the development of large-scale photovoltaic (PV) projects ranging from 120 MW to over 190 MW. This role is responsible for producing accurate, competitive, and comprehensive electrical cost estimates that enhance project feasibility, bid competitiveness, and successful execution. The ideal candidate will possess strong electrical expertise, experience with utility-scale solar systems, and the ability to interpret complex engineering documents while collaborating across engineering, procurement, and construction teams.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Prepare detailed electrical estimates for utility-scale solar projects, including DC collection, AC collection, medium-voltage systems, and utility interconnection. </li><li>Perform accurate quantity takeoffs for conduit, cable, terminations, grounding, equipment pads, trenching, racking electrical components, and materials. </li><li>Develop labor estimates based on crew makeup, productivity rates, equipment needs, and site conditions. </li><li>Evaluate and level subcontractor and vendor quotes for materials, equipment, and specialty services. </li><li>Maintain and update internal cost databases, labor units, and historical project benchmarks. </li><li>Review engineering drawings, one-lines, specifications, and design packages to identify scope, constructability issues, and potential cost impacts. </li><li>Coordinate with project managers, field supervisors, and engineering teams to validate installation methods and identify value-engineering opportunities. </li><li>Identify risks, design gaps, and clarifications needed to ensure accurate bid proposals. </li><li>Prepare bid packages, proposal narratives, and scope clarifications for clients and general contractors. </li><li>Participate in pre-bid meetings, site walks, and RFI development. </li><li>Support project teams during estimate handoff, budget validation, procurement planning, and change-order pricing. </li><li>Track actual field performance and costs to refine future estimates and improve accuracy. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Strong expertise in electrical systems and construction estimating. </li><li>Experience with utility-scale solar systems. </li><li>Proficiency in renewable solar estimation and DC circuits. </li><li>Familiarity with construction estimating software, such as Procore. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Ability to prepare comprehensive electrical estimates. </li><li>Experience in developing labor estimates and evaluating subcontractor quotes. </li><li>Capability to maintain and update cost databases. </li><li>Strong coordination skills with project managers and engineering teams. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>This role offers flexibility, allowing you to work either in the office, from home, or remotely.</p> <p>Job Type & Location</p> <p>This is a Contract position based out of Edwardsville, IL.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.</p> <p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
