<p>Description</p> <p>Provides instruction and assesses student learning in a variety of nursing and other related courses; collaborates with colleagues to maintain and develop curriculum, serves on college committees, and performs other duties appropriate for a faculty member as assigned; is dedicated to the learning college concepts and develops programs and facilitates activities that promote student success and lifelong learning. This position includes clinical and theory teaching instruction in.the CNA program, as well as some clinical teaching instruction in the PN program during the late afternoon and evening hours. May involve Saturday clinical instruction as well.</p> <p>Examples of Duties</p> <p>A.Provides instruction and assesses student learning within their program area.</p> <p>B.Selects and reviews educational strategies and materials to facilitate achievement of competencies related to each course taught.</p> <p>C.Prepares current syllabi and instructional materials in accordance with course master syllabi, college policies and procedures.</p> <p>D.Collaborates with colleagues to review and revise curriculum, teaching materials, and teaching methods to promote student success and lifelong learning.</p> <p>E.Advises, counsels and assists students enrolled in their program in accomplishing their course and program goals.</p> <p>F.Meets classes as scheduled by the college and maintains office hours as stated in the KCC Faculty Association Contract.</p> <p>G.Evaluates student performance, including maintaining and providing tenth day and midterm attendance in addition to grade records for each class.</p> <p>H.Remains current with content, technology and teaching and learning strategies in the discipline.</p> <p>I.Assesses student learning outcomes at the class, course, and program levels as defined by the faculty Assessment Committee.</p> <p>J.Participates in curriculum and course development.</p> <p>K.Attends division and faculty meetings and communicates regularly with the Director of Nursing regarding instructional concerns.</p> <p>L.Functions as an academic advisor for students enrolled in their division and assists in the advisement and scheduling process during in-service week.</p> <p>M.Participates in faculty evaluation and in-service development activities.</p> <p>N.Works in a collaborative manner and responds to phone and email requests promptly.</p> <p>O. Assists the Director of Nursing in the recruitment and selection of part-time instructors.</p> <p>P. Assists the Director of nursing in the selection of clinical facilities.</p> <p>Q. Provides clinical facilities with appropriate course materials.</p> <p>R.Provides course materials and assistance to part-time instructors as requested by the Director of Nursing.</p> <p>S. Assists the Director of Nursing to meet requirements and standards set by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).</p> <p>T. Serves on college committees as stated in the KCC Faculty Association Contract.</p> <p>U.Assists in budget preparation by recommending supplies and capital items where applicable.</p> <p>V.Follows the policies and procedures of the college as stated in the Faculty Handbook and the KCC Faculty Association Contract.</p> <p>W. Represents and interprets the program informally at available opportunities such as high school visits, community gatherings, etc.</p> <p>X. Attends the commencement program.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>A. CNA/PN program - bachelor's degree in nursing and a current Illinois RN license required. Master's degree preferred.</p> <p>B. Minimum of two years long- term care or acute care clinical experience in nursing required.</p> <p>C. Prior experience as an excellent, innovative teacher and with the use of instructional technologies desirable; community college teaching experience preferred.</p> <p>D. Qualified candidate must have strong reading, writing, communication, and computation skills as well as be computer literate.</p> <p>Supplemental Information</p> <p>Position is full-time, tenure-track, beginning August 10th for Fall semester, 2026.</p>
