<p>The City of Frankfort is seeking a part time Transit Driver to assist with citizen transport and join a growing team that is located in a beautiful new facility.</p> <p>Under general supervision, this position operates a City passenger vehicle following either designated route and time schedule or demand - response ADA routing; ensures safety of passengers at all times; performs related work as required.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Drives bus on designated route and time schedule or demand response ADA routes within City limits to pick up and discharge passengers at designated locations; occasionally transports passengers on special tours. </li><li>Ensures safe operating condition of bus; checks engine, tires, fuel, lights, brakes, steering, and condition of seats and floor prior to beginning route; monitors conditions during shift and takes necessary actions. </li><li>Reports maintenance issues to the Fleet Mechanic. </li><li>Immediately reports accidents involving bus or passenger to superior and Police Department. </li><li>Ensures that bus is kept clean and in sanitary condition. </li><li>Issues and collects tickets and transfers; records number of passengers; prepares and maintains accurate logs and reports number of passengers, activities during shift, etc. </li><li>Observes posted speed limits and all operation laws, regulations, and safety precautions. </li><li>Reports all out of ordinary activities to supervisor for immediate action. </li><li>Reports all complaints/criticisms to supervisor. </li></ul> <p>The part time positions will be CDL class B with P endorsement preferred. Willing to provide CDL training for the right candidate. 80-100 hours per month (approx. 20 hours per week). Saturday's and some Holidays expected. Hours vary between 6:00 AM-6:45 PM, M-F and 8:15 AM-3:45 PM Saturday. Must have a safe driving record.</p> <p>WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS</p> <p>One year experience driving a bus or similar vehicle.</p> <p>EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS</p> <p>Graduation from High School or equivalent.</p> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS</p> <p>Work involves typically sitting while driving bus during all weather conditions; exposed to diesel fumes. Will also involve physical requirements due to the transportation of disabled passengers.</p>
