<p>Job Title: Mechanical Engineer</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Specialize in the design, manufacturing, deployment, and support of an advanced Unmanned Aerial System built for military and defense applications. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will collaborate closely with another engineer to design and develop components. This hands-on role requires creativity, precision, and strong coordination with suppliers.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Design and model components using SolidWorks. </li><li>Collaborate directly with suppliers on fabrication, carbon-fiber layups, tooling, and mold development. </li><li>Generate and approve engineering drawings. </li><li>Manage design revisions and oversee change-order implementation. </li><li>Monitor supplier progress and review first-article parts. </li><li>Resolve discrepancies and release components into production. </li><li>Ensure that design, integration, and supplier activities are executed on schedule to meet critical project deadlines. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Proficiency in SolidWorks for designing brackets and hangers. </li><li>Experience in aviation, aerospace, or autonomous vehicles. </li><li>3+ years of experience in mechanical design. </li><li>Background in UAV design. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>UAV flying experience. </li><li>Relevant degree in a related field. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>Work alongside another mechanical engineer, a drafter, and a configuration manager, with an external team involved in designs.</p> <p>Collaborate with 2-3 electrical techs and another electrical engineer.</p> <p>Flexible hours from 8-5</p> <ul> <li>Occasional weekend work may be required near deadlines. </li><li>Travel if needed. </li></ul> <p>Job Type & Location</p> <p>This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Howell, MI.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $52.00/hr.</p> <p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
