This is on an campus position and requires the work to be completed on campus.</p> <p>Pay rate or range: $12 per hour</p> <p>JOB PURPOSE:</p> <p>The Social Media Work-Study supports the office's digital presence by helping create, schedule, and monitor social media content across multiple platforms-primarily Instagram and Facebook, as well as some international accounts. The position assists in engaging online with the UW community, potential students, donors, and international partners, and promoting programs and services. JFNTMP</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Create content (graphics, photos, videos, and captions) for social media channels </li><li>Share content from other UW and partner accounts </li><li>Schedule and publish posts using social media management tools </li><li>Monitor engagement (likes, comments, shares) and respond to messages as needed </li><li>Collaborate with staff and other work-studies to brainstorm and implement campaigns </li><li>Assist in tracking analytics and reporting on performance </li><li>Stay up to date with social media trends relevant to college audiences </li></ul> <p>SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Take photos or short videos at events as needed </li><li>Help with minor updates to other department media </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>COMPETENCIES:</p> <ul> <li>Attention to Detail </li><li>Teamwork </li><li>Ability to Learn </li><li>Analysis/Problem Identification </li><li>Technical Social Media Knowledge </li><li>Creativity/Innovation </li><li>Communication - Oral and Written </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Must be work-study eligible and available to work on campus </li><li>Some college </li></ul> <p>Must be eligible, have received and accepted work study award through Student Financial Aid for the applicable semester and/or academic year.</p> <p>DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Experience using social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and X (Instagram and Facebook preferred) </li><li>Familiarity with graphic design tools like Canva </li><li>Strong writing skills and an understanding of social media tone and audience </li><li>Experience with photography, video editing, or basic analytics tools is a plus </li></ul> <p>EDUCATIONAL BENEFITS APPLICABLE TO CAREERS:</p> <p>This position provides valuable experience in digital marketing, communications, and public relations.
