<ul> <li>Plan and teach individual violin lessons. Teach Saturday group classes. Coordinate class recitals in fall and spring semester. Lead pieces and assist with group concert. Participate in new parent orientation sessions. Rehearse students for group performances and individual class recitals. Listen to graduation performances and provide written evaluation-graduation letter. </li><li>Communicate with students, parents, and colleagues about program activities. Assist with the bi-annual Suzuki Weekend Workshop. Assist with annual Suzuki Play-in and picnic. </li><li>Complete administrative tasks as assigned by the Suzuki Coordinator. Attend all Suzuki faculty meetings. </li><li>During 10-month contractual period, works a minimum of 30 hours per week, including 23-25 student contact hours per week: Fall semester (18 weeks) and Spring semester (18 weeks). </li><li>Monday - Friday, 3:30-8:30 p.m. with some flexibility. Suzuki Saturdays twice per month, Fall through Spring semesters. </li><li>Teach CMS 6-week summer session of individual lessons on a contractual basis. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. Reports to the CMS Director. </li></ul> <p>Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred in Violin performance and/or pedagogy or a closely related area. Two years or more of Suzuki teaching. Suzuki registered training through Book 6 with a willingness to obtain additional training. Long-term training preferred.</p> <ul> <li>Commitment to the Suzuki Philosophy and demonstrated ability to guide and inspire Suzuki students and parents. </li><li>Strong violin performance skills. </li><li>Commitment to continued growth as a teacher and musician </li><li>Excellent organizational skills. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. </li><li>Ability to work cooperatively with fellow faculty members as part of a cohesive Suzuki program. </li><li>Ability to exercise critical human relations skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with the university community. </li></ul>
