Right Here.</p> <p>Job Type:</p> <p>Regular</p> <p>Scheduled Hours:</p> <p>24</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring for an Activities Clerical Certified Nurse Assistant for Grant Hospital.</p> <p>Shift/Hours: Part Time, 24 hours/week, 3P-1130P</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>The Activities/Clerical/CNA provides for the ongoing program of activities, designed to meet the individual needs of the resident, including interests, physical, mental and psychosocial well-being. This position is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the clerical functions and duties of a designated unit/program. Utilizes Customer Service skills when greeting patient/visitors and answering telephone. Provides direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction of a RN or LPN. Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides for personal care, comfort, and assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment for an assigned group of patients.</p> <p>Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.</p> <ul> <li>Comprehensive assessment of resident activity status and needs, including pre-admission interests, hobbies and life style. Present ability to participate in individual, structured or group activities based on age specific standards. Completion of activity assessment, progress notes and documentation within established time frame. </li><li>Plans and implements activity programs, which includes planning of daily events. Coordinates all activities with the daily schedules of other disciplines to ensure maximum the benefits to the residents and whenever possible utilize support staff to assist in the operations of the activities program. </li><li>Prepares and assists patients with meals, feeds patients, removes dietary trays, and records accurate intake and output. Documents amounts and percentage of meals and fluids according to Intake and Output and Calorie Count procedures. </li><li>Responsible for positioning patients, lifting and turning, applying and utilizing SMART equipment, assisting with bowel and bladder functions, and ambulating patients. </li><li>Provides general patient care such as bathing, mouth care and peri-care, dressing of patients, and changing/making beds. </li><li>Utilizes customer service skills when addressing patients/visitors, physicians, co-workers face to face and on the telephone. </li><li>Performs activities designed to support unit as directed such as ensuring compliance with environmental standards and participation in performance improvement activities, etc. </li><li>Functions as information source for medical and nursing staff, patients, and visitors. Relays written and verbal communication and is responsible for reporting pertinent patient/family observations to the professional staff. </li><li>Responsible for providing and maintaining all equipment and supplies that are required to meet the needs of the residents within the prescribed budgetary guidelines. </li><li>Has the ability to acquire knowledge of and develop skills in basic patient care procedures and documents care provided. Demonstrates knowledge of regulatory requirements. </li><li>Attends education programs to maintain and learn new treatments, procedures, clinical and clerical skills, and mandatory in-service days. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Education, Credentials, Licenses:</p> <ul> <li>Certified in the state where work is being performed as Certified Nurse Assistant </li><li>Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. </li><li>Completion of applicable state courses. </li><li>Successful completion of Certified Nurse Assistant exam required for certification. </li><li>Not listed on the applicable State Abuse Registry </li><li>Must have CPR for the professional rescuer </li><li>High School Diploma </li></ul> <p>Specialized Knowledge:</p> <ul> <li>Basic math skills </li><li>Awareness, knowledge and interest in gerontology. </li><li>Demonstrates ability to organize and coordinate multiple programs over time. </li><li>Knowledge of LTC/Swing Bed regulatory standards governing activity programs. </li><li>Basic knowledge of Word and Microsoft Outlook </li></ul> <p>Kind and Length of Experience:</p> <ul> <li>One year of experience in an Acute care and/or LTC setting </li></ul> <p>FLSA Status:</p> <p>Non-Exempt</p> <p>Right Career.
