<p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Promotions Producer is a creative powerhouse responsible for driving viewership and brand awareness for Wyoming PBS through high-quality visual storytelling and strategic marketing. This position blends the technical skills of a filmmaker with the mindset of a digital marketer to create compelling promotional content across broadcast and digital platforms. Working in close collaboration with the station's Digital Engagement and Analytics Manager, this role focuses on asset creation and production support that complement, but do not duplicate, station-wide digital strategy and community engagement initiatives.</p> <p>The Promotions Producer develops and executes on-air promos, social media video campaigns, still graphic assets, and persuasive copy that resonates with the Wyoming community. By managing the station's presence on YouTube, the website, and social media accounts, this role ensures that Wyoming PBS content is discoverable, engaging, and aligned with national PBS brand standards. The Promotions Producer also assists the Wyoming PBS Foundation with the conception and production of promotional and stewardship videos, including spots for fundraising campaigns, donor recognition, and special events. This position is essential in translating the station's programming into "must-watch" content for a diverse and evolving audience.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>Multi-Platform Content Creation</p> <ul> <li>Write, produce, shoot, and edit high-quality video promotions for broadcast, web, and social media platforms. </li><li>Design and produce still images, digital banners, and graphic assets for use across the station's digital ecosystem. </li><li>Craft engaging, brand-consistent copy for video scripts, social media posts, and digital advertisements. </li></ul> <p>Digital Channel Management</p> <ul> <li>Oversee the daily uploading and optimization of content on the Wyoming PBS YouTube channel, utilizing SEO best practices. </li><li>Manage and update the Wyoming PBS website with fresh promotional content and program highlights. </li><li>Execute social media strategies across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) to foster community engagement and drive traffic to streaming services, in coordination with the Digital Engagement and Analytics Manager to ensure efforts are aligned and not duplicative. </li></ul> <p>Marketing & Brand Strategy</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with the Content Director and the Marketing, Outreach and Communications Director to develop monthly and program-specific marketing campaigns. </li><li>Work in concert with the Digital Engagement and Analytics Manager to ensure that promotional assets effectively support broader digital and community engagement strategies without overlapping core responsibilities. </li><li>Ensure all promotional materials adhere to Wyoming PBS and national PBS brand identity guidelines. </li><li>Monitor digital trends and platform algorithm changes to ensure maximum reach for station content. </li></ul> <p>Technical Production</p> <ul> <li>Operate professional cinema cameras, lighting kits, and audio recording equipment for field and studio promotional shoots. </li><li>Utilize advanced post-production techniques, including color grading and basic motion graphics, to ensure a professional aesthetic. </li></ul> <p>SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Assist in the promotion of live station events and community outreach initiatives. </li><li>Assist the Wyoming PBS Foundation with promotional and stewardship videos, including fundraising campaign spots, donor recognition pieces, and special event videos. </li><li>Maintain a well-organized digital asset management system for all promotional b-roll and graphics. </li><li>Analyze basic digital reach metrics to adjust creative tactics for better audience performance. </li></ul> <p>Position Specifications and Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Digital Media, Marketing, Communications, or a directly related field from a regionally accredited institution. </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>Three years of experience in professional video production, filmmaking, or digital content marketing. </li></ul> <p>Equivalency Statement</p> <ul> <li>Equivalent combinations of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired may be considered on a case-by-case basis. </li></ul> <p>Desired Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Proven track record of creating high-impact promotional videos or short-form documentaries. </li><li>Strong understanding of digital marketing funnels and how to use video to drive specific audience actions. </li><li>Advanced proficiency in the Adobe Creative Cloud suite, particularly Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop. </li><li>Experience managing professional brand accounts on YouTube and social media platforms. </li><li>Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining high creative standards and attention to detail. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of cinematography, lighting for video, and professional audio capture. </li><li>Skill in non-linear editing and motion graphics creation. </li><li>Ability to write punchy, effective marketing copy for different demographics. </li><li>Familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS) for website updates. </li><li>Knowledge of copyright laws and music licensing for promotional use. </li><li>Ability to establish cooperative working relationships with production and marketing teams. </li></ul> <p>Level of Supervision</p> <ul> <li>This position operates under the general supervision of the Content Director. It may provide creative direction to student interns or freelance contributors on specific marketing projects. </li></ul> <p>Working Environment</p> <ul> <li>Reasonable accommodation will be extended to otherwise qualified individuals with a legally recognized disability. </li></ul> <p>Equipment Used</p> <ul> <li>Professional video cameras, DSLR/Mirrorless cameras, studio lighting, field audio gear, stabilizers (gimbals), and high-end editing workstations. Motor vehicle. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Must have sufficient visual acuity to identify appropriate color, contrast, and composition for broadcast-quality video. Must have sufficient auditory acuity to monitor audio levels and mix soundtracks. Must have the ability to operate an automobile safely.
