<p>Job Description: STCC is seeking a reliable part-time Help Desk technician to join our User Support Team. In this role, you will provide prompt and effective IT support to faculty, staff, and students experiencing technical issues. Work will be performed on-site at the Help Desk or from other locations on the STCC campus.</p> <p>Reporting to Under the direction and supervision of the Director of User Support Services, this position will be responsible for the following:</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <p>Respond to first-level support requests via phone calls, emails, chats, tickets and walk-ins to the Help Desk.Gather technical details to create tickets for second and third level support.Provide excellent customer service using user-friendly language for non-technical users.Support users with navigating technical issues and using software such as Zoom, Google, STCCNet portal, etc.Assist users with the account activation process and setting up multi-factor authentication. Resolve computer, printing, Wi-Fi, and A/V issues and report defective equipment.Monitor computer labs and manage equipment when not in use, maintain paper/toner for student printers and copiers in student areas.Document computer inventory adds/moves/changes. Setup computer equipment and assist with office/classroom technology moves. Assist with projects and other duties as assigned.</p> <p>Requirements: Associates degree in Information Technology or related field preferred, previous equivalent help desk experience will be considered. Knowledge of experience supporting computer hardware including PC's, Mac's, tablets, printers, etc.Working knowledge of computer operating systems in a networked environment.Knowledge of and experience troubleshooting wired and wireless connectivity issues.Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.Ability to present ideas in calm, user-friendly language to non-technical staff and end users.Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work.Must be able to participate in a flexible work schedule.Follow policies and procedures. Enforce no food/beverage/smoking/vaping policies in computer labs. Noise level in the work environment is low to moderate. Required to regularly interact with employees, students and the public. Ability to travel to other offices, classrooms, and labs to fix problems or collect equipment. Physical Ability Tasks require the ability to exert moderate physical effort in work, typically involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling. Lifting computers and boxes of paper as well as other equipment necessary. Loading computers and other equipment and paper onto carts and pushing/pulling full carts on uneven terrain. Carrying computers up/down stairs when needed.</p> <p>Additional Information: Salary: $20 per hour Benefits: No Union: No Grant Funded: No Closing Date: Open Until Filled</p> <p>All candidates must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
