<p>Position Details</p> <p>Position Information</p> <p>Position Title Campus Dean, LMU-DCOM Knoxville Department COLLEGE OF MEDICINE Position Category Staff Full Time Job Description</p> <p>The Campus Dean (Campus Authority) for the LMU-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine, Knoxville Campus reports to the Dean and Chief Academic Officer and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Knoxville, TN location. The Campus Dean, Knoxville, shall serve as a leadership position at an assistant/associate dean level or higher and will lead all local operational execution(s) of the LMU-DCOM mission, goals and objectives. The Campus Dean must be an osteopathic physician at the level of associate dean or higher. The Campus Dean will be a member of the Deans Council and work closely with the senior leadership team, Associate Deans, Assistant Deans, faculty and staff to ensure communication, coordination and follow through with various projects and initiatives.</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <p>Minimum of earned DO degree from a COCA accredited college of osteopathic medicine; an unrestricted medical license, free of disciplinary actions or sanctions while licensed; AOA or ABMS</p> <p>board certification at some time in their career; and Proven experience in team building, culture development, teaching, educational design and evaluations, scholarly activity, and academic leadership in a medical education setting appropriate for the position; Experience in academic leadership.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications Physical Demands Campus Lmu- West Knoxville</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University to all faculty, staff, students and to the community at large;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>promote effective working relationships among all faculty, staff and students;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>participate on university committees;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>supervise local leadership in all offices and departments within the DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine at LMU-DCOM Knoxville, including, but not limited to, academic affairs, student affairs, clinical affairs and operations;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>execute, review, modify, and assess the DCOM strategic plan at the Knoxville campus;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>oversee program development and achievement of academic standards;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>oversee faculty evaluation and development;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>monitor the appropriateness of faculty credentials;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>recommend to the Dean and Chief Academic Officer regarding appointment and renewal or non-renewal of personnel within the DCOM;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>develop and maintain contacts with other academic institutions and teaching hospitals/clinics to collaborate on research and other projects;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>assist in the development of university policies;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>effectively communicate with the constituents of the local, regional, and national community about DCOM and osteopathic medicine;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>oversee teaching/instructional assignments and make recommendations to ensure equitable workloads among personnel within the DCOM;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>support faculty in the development of successful research and grant writing paths;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>oversee the budget development and management for LMU-DCOM Knoxville;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>maintain good working relationships with affiliated teaching sites (hospitals and clinics) and GME programs;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>guide the assessment of curricula and the utilization of data to revise existing curricula or develop new programs;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>develop collaborative relationships with educational and healthcare institutions, clinics, and professionals;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>monitor and report on the effectiveness of recruitment and retention initiatives;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>work in cooperation with other health sciences programs for optimal use of physical and educational resources;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>supervise students during clinical educational activities utilizing standardized patients and/or volunteer patients;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>supervise students during authorized and approved patient care events including health fairs, sports physicals, or community outreach programs;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>Perform other duties as assigned.</p> <p>Posting Detail Information</p> <p>Posting Number S04785P Job Open Date 10/08/2025 Job Close Date 02/28/2026 Open Until Filled No Special Instructions Summary About the Institution</p> <p>Lincoln Memorial University is a values-based learning community dedicated to providing educational experiences in the liberal arts and professional studies.
