<p>JOB SUMMARY</p> <p>The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is a member of the multidisciplinary team who is directly involved in providing quality care to patients. CMA's are responsible for providing assistance to the nursing staff.</p> <p>JOB RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Takes client medical histories, performs and records vital signs and prepares clients for examination. </li><li>Assists with completing Nursing portion of admission process. </li><li>Completes patient assessments and notes. </li><li>Documents and updates Multidisciplinary Records. </li><li>Inputs client related information into medical record systems. </li><li>Transfers clients to Emergency room when appropriate. </li><li>Operates Pyxis machine based on appropriate protocol. </li><li>Assists with laboratory services and facilities routine tests as directed by MD and/or Nurse Practioners. </li><li>Maintains clean and properly stocked examination rooms and equipment. </li><li>Assists with ordering client specific and stock medication and updating inventory. </li><li>Writes, transcribes and reviews orders for non-controlled medications. </li><li>Administers non-controlled medications. </li></ul> <p>JOB QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Medical Assistant Certification </li><li>Minimum of one (1) year of experience acquired through a combination of education or practical work experience. </li><li>Work experience in a mental health or substance abuse/recovery environment or with a 12 step program is preferred. </li><li>CPR/First Aid Certification is required for this position. If not CPR/First Aid certified at time of hire, certification must be obtained within the state mandated time frame after first day of employment. </li></ul>
