Performs EKGs and phlebotomy as needed in the department within the scope of the NA II.</p> <p>*</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>Patients and families are served in providing direct patient care services. Performs duties and conducts interpersonal relationships in a manner to project a positive image of the department and hospital. Insures that contacts with other health care members are friendly, helpful, and courteous.</p> <p>*</p> <p>Other information:</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS</p> <ul> <li>High school graduate or equivalent. Completion of North Carolina Board of Nursing approved Nursing Assistant II course. Completes the EKG and phlebotomy on the job training. </li></ul> <p>PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT</p> <ul> <li>Two years of health care experience preferred. </li></ul> <p>LICENSURE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION</p> <ul> <li>Certified by the State Board of Nursing as a NA II, and BLS certification. </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS</p> <ul> <li>Good interpersonal, communication, and observation skills are essential. Understanding of patient care needs according to developmental stages for various age groups. </li></ul> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT</p> <ul> <li>Exposure to bloodborne pathogens requiring the use of protective equipment; exposure to other infectious diseases. Exposure to chemicals utilized to clean and disinfect equipment. </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</p> <ul> <li>Working and standing throughout the shift.
