At DHS, we take care of our employees so you can help care for others.</p> <p>Position Information</p> <p>Class Code: S083C</p> <p>Grade: GS02</p> <p>FLSA Status: NON-EXEMPT</p> <p>Salary Range: $32,405.00 - $51,686.00</p> <p>Summary</p> <p>The Baker is responsible for performing bakery operations and maintaining and cleaning bakery equipment. This position is governed by state and federal laws, regulations, and agency policy.</p> <p>Functions</p> <ul> <li>Performs bakery operations, including preparing breads, pastries, and/or desserts, calculating needed amounts of baked goods, ensuring accurate measurements of recipe quantities, labeling and storing leftover bakery items, and ordering weekly supplies. </li><li>Maintains supplies by inventorying baking pans and staple ingredients on hand and requesting new supplies. </li><li>Cleans bakery equipment including ovens, bakery coolers, freezers, and doughnut machines. </li><li>Assists with serving meals to residents and/or the general public, as necessary. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Dimensions</p> <p>None</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of the methods of baking and preparing food. </li><li>Knowledge of sanitation and safety requirements of a food service facility. </li><li>Ability to understand and follow recipes and oral instructions. </li><li>Ability to operate equipment used in baking. </li><li>Ability to read, write, and follow instructions. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus two years of experience in institutional baking or a related field.</p> <p>Licenses</p> <p>None</p> <p>The State of Arkansas is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, age, disability, citizenship, national origin, genetic information, military or veteran status, or any other status or characteristic protected by law.</p> <p>Nearest Major Market: Little Rock</p>
