<p>Position Overview</p> <p>We are seeking for a detail-oriented and highly motivated Staff Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, assisting with month-end close and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, be able to work independently, and possess excellent communication skills.</p> <p>What you will have the opportunity to do:</p> <ul> <li>Prepare monthly journal entries. </li><li>Perform general ledger account reconciliations and analysis. </li><li>Prepare bank reconciliations. </li><li>Assist with the month-end and year-end close process. </li><li>Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies. </li><li>Assist with budget preparation and forecasting. </li><li>Participate in financial audits and internal control testing. </li><li>Assist with the preparation of various schedules required for internal and external reporting, both on a GAAP basis and as required by Statutory Accounting Principles. </li><li>Provide support to other accounting functions as needed. </li><li>Assist with special projects as needed. </li></ul> <p>Skills and experience needed to succeed in the role:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. </li><li>2+ years of relevant experience in accounting. </li><li>Experience completing month end close, reconciling the general ledger and accounting for variances. </li><li>Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and practices. </li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Effective written and communication skills. </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. </li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team. </li></ul>
