We encourage you to view our website and follow us on our Facebook page.</p> <p>ESCALON UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT MENTAL HEALTH COORDINATOR Classification: Classified Management Work Year: 215 Days</p> <p>OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p> The Mental Health Coordinator serves under the immediate direction of the Director of Student Services and provides mental health services to eligible students and consultation services to school staff. Additionally, the Coordinator supervises mental health interns per the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Services may include assessing students, providing therapeutic support in a clinic, school sites or school-based program, and consultation with general education program staff regarding school-based mental health and interventions.</p> <p>SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibility to: Supervise mental health interns per the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Oversee billing procedure of reimbursable services through insurance grants and/or government agencies. Provide a variety of mental health services such as case management and consultation concerning client assessment, status, diagnosis, and treatment to children and young adults. Provide individual, group/family therapy counseling to eligible students/families. Work with collaborating public and private agencies to offer programs that foster social-emotional skills and prevent maladaptive behaviors. Provider for students who receive services through an Individual Education Plan and/or 504. Develop and monitor social-emotional goals for ALL students who receive services. Provide services to support and strengthen families and assist in moving students in residential placements back to school-based programs. Address innovative ways to provide mental health services to qualifying students. Develop systemic interventions that potentially strengthen student mental health resiliency in all schools. Collaborate with referral services, parents, teachers, administrators, law enforcement, and student support team members to identify and manage student crisis situations. Provide advisement on emotional, social, behavioral, and mental health issues. Consult and participate with other school professionals to evaluate at-risk students. Conduct interviews, observations, and behavioral health assessments with students. Serve as a member of the Student Data Review Team. Participate with other school professionals to enhance student performance by applying evidence-based practices/interventions. Collaborate with community resources for special events within the school setting. Plan, prepare, and conduct in-service education for other school professionals on various topics applying to students with drug abuse and behavioral/mental health needs. Perform other duties as assigned.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Minimum Requirements: The Mental Health Clinician shall work within the scope of either a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LCPP), or Licensed Educational Psychologist (LEP). The Mental Health Clinician shall have exhibited the ability to collaborate and work with staff in both special• education and general education settings in order to provide quality programs and services. Knowledge of Federal and State regulations as they apply to the specific accountability of this position. Ability to: Ensure all mental health programs and activities are operated within the limits and intent of state and federal law Speak, read, and write in English in a job-related setting. Bilingual skills which benefit the district, may be desired. Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Compare, analyze, infer, synthesize, interpret, and evaluate data, materials, resources, and situations in order to generate options and solutions. Read, comprehend, and prepare various kinds of communication and information including e-mails, correspondence, reports, business correspondence, proposals, policies, charts, spreadsheets, plans, and procedure manuals. Effectively present information with poise, control, and confidence and respond to questions from groups of managers, teachers, students, parents, and the general public. Work in teams with other staff to support positive student mental health. Provide services to students, parents, and school staff for the purpose of assuring a positive safe learning environment. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Work with a variety of software including student information systems, data management systems, and other relevant applications. Provide systemic and individual interventions to promote student adjustment to school settings. Establish and maintain cooperative and professional relationships with faculty, staff, peers, parents, and private agency personnel; skilled in oral and written communication. Education: Possession of a Master's Degree in Psychology, Clinical Social Work, Counseling Psychology, or a related field. Possession of a valid California Pupil Personnel Services Credential Preferred Experience: 5-year minimum as a licensed professional in the field of behavioral sciences</p> <p>License: Current California State License in Clinical Psychology, Clinical Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy, Professional Clinical Counselor, or Educational Psychology. Have held an active license as one of the above in California or any other state for at least two (2) years out of the last five (5) years prior to the commencement of supervision.LCSW, LMFT, LPCC or LEP must complete a minimum of 15 hours of supervision training or coursework within 60 days of the commencement of supervision Valid California Driver's License OTHER CHARACTERISTICS: Willingness to work the necessary hours to complete the basic and periodic core functions of the position. Frequent public contact is a necessary function of the position. May involve ongoing professional development to remain current on technology and personnel-related job responsibilities.
