Interested applicants must apply online by visiting the Denver Public Schools job board at careers.dpsk12.org.</p> <p>About this job:</p> <p>Performs a variety of professional, technical, and administrative tasks in developing and administering high quality assessments and correlating resources, including Interim and Unit Assessments. Leads the development of an assigned set of District assessments. Interprets public school rules, laws, and policies regarding assessment. Trains school personnel in the proper administration and creation of common assessments and analysis of data. time off, health and wellness benefits, and PERA Retirement. </li></ul> <p>What You'll Do:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Informs and supports district leadership in executing a cohesive assessment strategy, ensuring data disaggregation and communication align with the district's vision.</p> </li><li> <p>Designs and delivers training for educators on assessment literacy, ethical administration, and the use of data to drive instructional improvement.</p> </li><li> <p>Supports schools and central office in interpreting results and linking findings directly to curriculum and classroom instruction.</p> </li><li> <p>Develops and catalogs high quality assessment items for the district's item bank to accurately measure student knowledge and skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Conducts technical analyses, including Item Response Theory (IRT), to ensure the validity, reliability, and rigor of all assessment items.</p> </li><li> <p>Manages the district's online item banking and delivery systems to provide electronic assessments and real time results.</p> </li><li> <p>Partners with departments to manage assessment projects, generate comprehensive reports, and deliver presentations to diverse stakeholder groups.</p> </li><li> <p>Uses assessment data to work with district staff to identify specific academic strengths and target areas for growth.</p> </li><li> <p>Models assessments after Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) state standards in partnership with accredited organizations like Cognia to prepare students for state testing.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborates with outside vendors and Central Office to improve assessment products.</p> </li><li> <p>Development of unit assessments in the assessment management system (AMS) in collaboration with Academics as is appropriate to content mastery.</p> </li></ul> <p>What You'll Need:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's Degree in Education or relevant field is required.</p> </li><li> <p>Master's Degree is preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience</p> </li><li> <p>Three (3) or more years of substantial knowledge of and experience working with Colorado Academic Standards and/or Common Core State Standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Two (2) or more years of experience in item development (constructed response, selected response and performance based tasks), assessment creation, rubric development, and item analysis.</p> </li><li> <p>Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.</p> </li><li> <p>Valid Colorado Driver's License, appropriate insurance coverage, and acceptable driving record for the past three years.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong understanding of the fundamental assessment concepts (e.g., reliability, validity).</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to understand and interpret assessment data.</p> </li><li> <p>Aptitude for variety and changing expectations and fast-paced environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Effective communication skills, including excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.</p> </li><li> <p>Effectively handles multiple demands and competing deadlines.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong attention to detail.</p> </li><li> <p>Effective time management and organizational skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to develop and present complex information to teachers, administrators, or other adults.</p> </li><li> <p>Works collaboratively with others on a team.</p> </li><li> <p>The ability to take responsibility for one's own performance.</p> </li><li> <p>A deep commitment to issues of equity and to making a difference in the lives of urban educators and students.</p> </li><li> <p>Proficiency with Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook.</p> </li><li> <p>Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education.</p> </li><li> <p>Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.</p> </li><li> <p>Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.</p> </li></ul> <p>Denver Public Schools is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, gender expression, and sexual orientation), parental status, national origin, age, disability, genetic information (including family medical history), political affiliation, military service, or any other status protected by law or regulations.
