<p>Engineering a world of possibilities</p> <p>This part-time University Counselor position is primarily responsible for supporting the mental health and well-being of the Mines student body through the provision of high-quality clinical, consultation and education services. This position reports 3 days per week throughout the calendar year.</p> <p>This posting may be used to fill more than one vacancy.</p> <p>This work takes place in a hybrid environment, with on campus presence required at least twice a week.</p> <p>Primary Responsibilities:</p> <p>Direct Service: Maintain an individual clinical caseload of students to assist with developmental issues or more severe psychological concerns. Clinical services can take the form of initial intake assessments, single-sessions, brief therapy, and crisis stabilization. As appropriate, refer students to local mental health providers or other campus/community resources based on clinical judgment within the center's scope of care. Provide appropriate electronic clinical documentation in accordance with professional ethical and department standards.</p> <p>Consultation: Provide consultation to parents, faculty and staff as needed to assist with understanding of students' psychological needs, treatment and disposition planning. Consult, collaborate and serve as a resource to key departments in the Student Life and Academic divisions on campus.</p> <p>Outreach (workshops/groups): Provide alternate service platforms to students with regard to mental health issues or specific program topics targeting certain populations. Participate in the center's rotation of seminars and workshops, drop-in hours and support groups. Utilize technological platforms to provide psychoeducational and support services.</p> <p>Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis intervention (walk-in) when necessary. Consult with appropriate entities (administrators, care providers, hospitals, etc.) regarding crisis planning, resolution and care coordination.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Master's degree from an accredited institution in the area of psychology, counseling or social work.</p> </li><li> <p>Licensed to practice in the state of Colorado.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated significant and progressive experience in the mental health field with a background in clinical assessment, counseling, and triage/crisis intervention.</p> </li><li> <p>Evidence of interest and experience working with varied identities and needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated comfort and skill with crisis management, trauma, and multiple levels of severity of student presentation in a high-pressured college environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience addressing issues pertinent to a diverse student population (e.g., depression, anxiety, trauma, bereavement, substance abuse, eating disorders, suicide risk, family/relationship issues, identity issues and self-injury).</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Skill and knowledge in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) models and trauma.</p> </li><li> <p>Some background in higher education, stepped care or comparable short-term/multi-faceted treatment models, psychoeducational service delivery, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.</p> </li></ul> <p>Salary and Benefits</p> <p>Full time salary is $68,333 - $72,500. Salary will be prorated based on FTE. 60% FTE rate is $41,000 - $43,500.</p> <p>Mines takes into consideration a combination of candidate's education, training and experience as well as the position's scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required in the role, work location, and external market and internal value when determining a salary level for potential new employees.</p> <p>Colorado School of Mines offers a robust portfolio of benefits for all employees.
