<p>Program description: Fine Arts Camp focuses on educating young women in the creative process and developing their communication, critical, and analytical thinking skills. At the end of the week, campers present their work in a Performing Arts Forum on the O'Laughlin stage at Saint Mary's College. Over five days, participants will explore five fine arts disciplines: music, dance, theater, puppetry, and art. Daily classes in these disciplines are combined with a performance class where each camper specializes in a specific art form. At the end of the week, families are invited to attend a performance showcasing the campers' creations.</p> <p>Position Description: Camp Counselors work with the Pre-College Programs Department in supervising campers enrolled in our residential and day summer camp programs. The successful counselor will be compassionate, vigilant, helpful, and inspirational to the young women attending camps.</p> <p>Position Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Responsible each week for the supervision and safety of approximately 10-15 students, ages 9-14 in the residence hall, during guest performances, and at all day/evening activities. </li><li>Assist assigned instructor with (3) 75- minute classes and (1) 90-minute class per day (Monday-Thursday) and rehearsal & performance for performance forum (Friday) </li><li>Responsible for assisting directors with organized activities, talent shows, and guest performances. </li><li>Responsible for assisting at registration, orientation, and departure each week. </li><li>Serve as a role model for young adults. </li><li>Required attendance at counselor training 2-3 days before camp begins and a wrap-up session at the end of the program. </li><li>Required to reside in the residence hall on campus during residential camp. </li><li>Responsible for supervision of campers at resident hall during the daytime hours. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Mature college-aged students. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Previous Camp experience helpful; </li><li>Experience in supervising youth ages 9-14; </li><li>Prior experience working with diverse ability groups. </li></ul>
