In return, we'll help you build a career that you can feel passionate about.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>A Maintenance Technician II is responsible for: independently performing a variety of standard and complicated maintenance service and repairs in buildings, on the grounds, and with equipment. The individual in this role is a skilled specialist who: relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals; takes initiative to determine methods/procedures for new assignments; makes recommendations for improvements; trains less experienced technicians; and may be an informal team leader.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Perform a variety of routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance services and repairs in areas such as: plumbing, carpentry, painting, equipment servicing/support, fixing/replacing door/door hardware and glass, operating various power/hand tools and grounds equipment, and assisting electricians. </li><li>Provides training to other technicians with respect to operation and maintenance in support of the facility in compliance with company standards, procedures, and government regulations (SOPs, BOPs, GLPs, etc). </li><li>Assist with problem-solving and assists with corrective action preventative action (DEVIL) responsibilities. </li><li>Keep records/documentation of assigned work and work accomplished. </li><li>Conduct routine equipment tours and/or inspections. </li><li>Serves as maintenance advisor to provide input to projects in areas of vivarium room design, parts and material selection, documentation, testing, problem solving, maintenance requirements, project scope, and follow-up. </li><li>Responsible for priority assessment and decision making as it relates to troubleshooting, repair, proactive room/facility/grounds maintenance in a cost-effective manner. </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Job Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Education: </li><li>HS/GED degree with >3 years' experience </li><li>Experience: </li><li>Demonstrated ability to perform a variety of routine maintenance tasks. </li><li>Demonstrated basic knowledge of procedures and safety measures in area of specialty. </li><li>Good communication and organizational skills as well as the ability to interact with all levels of the CRL organization. Can articulate issues and solutions thru collaboration with the team. </li><li>Position requires daily or common interaction with Facilities Engineering Team, Facilities Maintenance Team Management, Laboratory/Production Stakeholders, Facilities Maintenance Technicians, Contractors, and Vendors. </li><li>Can analyze problems and provide support in determining appropriate corrective and preventative actions, with minimal assistance. </li><li>Capable of simultaneously managing multiple assignments. </li><li>Capable of documentation of all work in designated CMMS software. </li><li>Ability to work under specific time constraints. </li><li>An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above </li><li>Computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite), commensurate with essential duties, including the ability to learn a validated system </li><li>Demonstrated ability to problem solve, make quick decisions, communicate decisions effectively, and lead/manage staff in a growing, changing environment </li><li>Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to evenings, weekends, extended shifts, and/or extra shifts; sometimes on short notice </li><li>Ability to work under specific time constraints </li></ul> <p>The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
