As the organization continues to modernize its platforms, data, and digital experiences, we are seeking a Vice President, Security Architecture to shape how security is designed, embedded, and scaled across the enterprise.</p> <p>Reporting to the Chief Architect, this role sits at the center of Prudential's technology strategy. You will define the target state- security architecture, influence the most critical technology decisions across CIO organizations, and lead a team responsible for ensuring security is built in- by design, not bolted on after delivery.</p> <p>This is a highly visible leadership role for a senior security architecture leader who thrives at enterprise scale - someone who can balance risk, resilience, and velocity, partner effectively across technology and business teams, and help shape the future of security within a modern financial services organization.</p> <p>Your Team & Role</p> <p>The Global Technology organization at Prudential is seeking a Vice President, Security Architecture. This role leads the enterprise security architecture function and is accountable for establishing and maintaining security architecture standards, patterns, and processes that protect information and technology assets while enabling business outcomes.</p> <p>As a member of Global Technology's Architecture leadership team, this role collaborates closely with architecture peers across Solution, Data, Infrastructure, and Platform domains, as well as with CIO organizations and engineering leaders across the enterprise.</p> <p>What You Can Expect on a Typical Day</p> <p>As Vice President, Security Architecture, you will operate as an enterprise thought leader, decision authority, and enabler, working across technology and business teams to define how Prudential builds secure platforms and products.</p> <p>You will:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Define and evolve Prudential's enterprise security architecture vision, including target s-tate roadmaps aligned to business strategy, regulatory expectations, and technology modernization efforts.</p> </li><li> <p>Establish and maintain enterprise security architecture patterns, reference architectures, and standards that are secure by- -default and designed for reuse and scale.</p> </li><li> <p>Drive adoption of modern security architecture principles, including Zero Trust, identity-centric security, defense-in-depth, and resilience-focused design across applications, platforms, infrastructure, and data.</p> </li><li> <p>Partner with cloud, infrastructure, application, and data architecture leaders to guide cloud-native security architectures across AWS and Azure environments at enterprise scale.</p> </li><li> <p>Shape platform-centric and product-aligned security models, embedding security patterns, guardrails, and policy-based controls into delivery and engineering workflows.</p> </li><li> <p>Serve as a design authority for significant architectural initiatives, reviewing and approving key designs to ensure alignment with enterprise security strategy while balancing risk, speed, and business outcomes.</p> </li><li> <p>In partnership with data architecture and governance teams, define the enterprise approach to data security, access, and provisioning, ensuring alignment with data governance objectives and regulatory requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Build, lead, and develop a high-performing security architecture team, with accountability for talent growth, performance, and architectural excellence.</p> </li><li> <p>Act as a trusted advisor to CIO organizations and senior technology leaders, providing guidance on security architecture trends, emerging risks, and opportunities to modernize and simplify the security landscape.</p> </li><li> <p>Apply application portfolio and capability management practices within the security domain to identify opportunities for modernization, rationalization, and value realization.</p> </li><li> <p>Stay current on industry and technology trends - including cloud platforms, security automation, and emerging technologies - and translate those insights into pragmatic, enterprise-appropriate architectural strategies.</p> </li></ul> <p>The Skills & Expertise You Bring</p> <p>Education & Professional Experience</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree required or equivalent relevant experience; advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in enterprise security architecture, information security, or technology risk, including senior leadership roles with accountability for strategy, standards, and outcomes across large, complex organizations.</p> </li></ul> <p>Enterprise Security Architecture & Strategy</p> <ul> <li> <p>Proven ability to define, lead, and evolve an enterprise-wide security architecture vision, translating business strategy, regulatory requirements, and risk posture into clear target-state architectures and multi-year roadmaps.</p> </li><li> <p>Deep expertise in modern security architecture principles, including Zero Trust, identity-centric security, defense-in-depth, and resilience-focused design.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated success establishing enterprise security standards, patterns, and reference architectures and driving their adoption across federated technology organizations.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong judgment and credibility serving as a decision authority for complex architectural trade-offs.</p> </li></ul> <p>Cloud, Platform & Product Security Leadership</p> <ul> <li> <p>Extensive experience guiding cloud-native security architecture across AWS and Azure environments at enterprise scale.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to shape platform-centric and product-aligned security models that enable secure reuse and consistency across teams.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience influencing the integration of security into modern delivery models, including automation, infrastructure-as-code, and policy-based controls.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong understanding of governing security in distributed engineering environments without creating unnecessary friction.</p> </li></ul> <p>Data, Identity & Emerging Technology Security</p> <ul> <li> <p>Deep understanding of enterprise data security, including access control, encryption, and alignment with data governance and regulatory objectives.</p> </li><li> <p>Expertise in identity and access management (IAM) as a foundational architectural capability across applications, APIs, platforms, and data services.</p> </li><li> <p>Awareness of emerging technology risks and opportunities, including advanced analytics, AI/ML platforms, and highly distributed systems, with the ability to translate them into architectural guidance.</p> </li></ul> <p>Leadership, Influence & Outcomes</p> <ul> <li> <p>Demonstrated success influencing senior technology and business leaders across CIO organizations without direct authority.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to clearly communicate complex security architecture concepts to technical and executive audiences.</p> </li><li> <p>Proven experience building and leading high-performing security architecture teams, with accountability for talent development and succession.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong prioritization and outcome-oriented leadership skills, balancing risk, speed, and enterprise value across multiple concurrent initiatives.</p> </li><li> <p>Continuous learning mindset with intellectual curiosity and resilience in navigating change and ambiguity.</p> </li></ul> <p>What Success Looks Like</p> <p>In the first 12-24 months, success in this role is demonstrated by:</p> <ul> <li> <p>A clearly articulated and widely adopted enterprise security architecture vision with aligned target-state roadmaps.</p> </li><li> <p>Consistent use of security architecture patterns and reference architectures across CIO organizations, improving design quality, reuse, and risk posture.</p> </li><li> <p>Meaningful progress embedding Zero Trust, identity-centric security, and resilience-focused design into enterprise platforms, applications, and data environments.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong partnerships with architecture peers, CIO organizations, and engineering leaders, positioning security architecture as a trusted enabler of modernization and delivery velocity.</p> </li><li> <p>A well-established cloud-native security posture across AWS and Azure, supported by scalable governance and architectural guardrails.</p> </li><li> <p>A high-performing, engaged security architecture team with clear accountability and a culture of modern architectural thinking.</p> </li><li> <p>Increased confidence among senior leaders in architectural decision-making and security trade-offs.</p> </li><li> <p>A visibly stronger, more mature enterprise security architecture capability that supports Prudential's long-term resilience and trust.</p> </li></ul> <p>You'll Love Working Here Because You Can</p> <p>Join a team and culture where your voice matters and your leadership shapes how Prudential builds trust, resilience, and innovation at scale. The salary range for this role is from $221,900.00 to $333,000.00.
