This unique position allows you to work directly with physicians and provide direct care, such as taking vitals, preparing patients for procedures, applying temperature compresses and completing various other direct support activities. In this role, you will gain extensive hands-on experience and pursue an exciting future as a caregiver at Cleveland Clinic.</p> <p>A caregiver in this position works 8:00am - 4:30pm.</p> <p>A caregiver who excels in this role will:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Provide or assist with patient care in an outpatient clinic under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Independent Provider (LIP).</p> </li><li> <p>Complete the rooming process, including vitals, height, weight, intake questions, documentation and reporting abnormal findings.</p> </li><li> <p>Collect patient specimens, perform point of care testing and prepare specimens for transport to the lab.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare patients for and assist with exams, tests and procedures, such as EKG, Holter monitor application, pulse oximetry, hearing and vision screening, disinfection and sterilization.</p> </li><li> <p>Administer treatments as directed, including the application of heat or cold, simple sterile dressing changes and applying/removing casts, braces and splints.</p> </li><li> <p>Review printed instructions with patients.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with wound care.</p> </li><li> <p>Document in the electronic health record.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with setting and closing the clinic.</p> </li><li> <p>Stock supplies and linens.</p> </li><li> <p>Clean, monitor expiration dates and restock dressing supply carts, check AED units and oxygen tanks, and empty needle boxes using appropriate safety measures.</p> </li><li> <p>Initiate CPR and other emergency measures.</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>High School Diploma/GED</p> </li><li> <p>Understanding of human anatomy, basic patient care activities and math</p> </li><li> <p>Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) within new hire period</p> </li><li> <p>One year of recent healthcare experience in a hospital or ambulatory, homecare, assisted living, nursing home or long-term care setting OR additional formal training/education</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:</p> <ul> <li>Proficiency in the use of an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) </li></ul> <p>Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
