<p>OFFICIAL TITLE: Learning Lab Facilitator- Parenting Teens Program WORKING TITLE:Learning Lab FacilitatorMONTHS: 12</p> <p>SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF CLASSIFICATION: With varied academic needs among students at NBPS Parenting Teens Program, as well as the need to maintain and strengthen instructive technology into the classroom, PTP will utilize a blended learning model and pedagogical approaches that utilizes technology to support student learning and teacher instruction. The Learning Lab Facilitator will develop and implement multiple online, individualized academic pathways; all geared at providing targeted instruction for each student.</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATION STANDARDS KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of grade 8-12 Curriculum Frameworks is required. Experience in assisting learners in a web-based education environment required. Ability to effectively collaborate with all stakeholders. Possess excellent planning, organization, record keeping, communications (oral and written) and human relations. Knowledge of district resources is strongly preferred. Possess commitment to creating an equitable, culturally responsive, classroom environment. Ability to engage and communicate effectively with parents and families.</p> <ul> <li>Proactive problem solver who demonstrates initiative. </li><li>Self-motivated and flexible; must show demonstrated ability to set priorities and work with limited supervision and be able to meet deadlines competently. </li><li>Strong work ethic coupled with an enthusiastic and passionate approach to one's work. </li></ul> <p>Other duties as assigned by the Parenting Teens Program Director</p> <p>EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree required. Massachusetts Teacher Certification is preferred. Experience in assisting learners in a web-based education environment required. Teaching experience in Alternative or Adult Education setting preferred.</p> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Manage on-line learning platforms that include but are not limited to: APEX, Edgenuity, My Path, and Purpose Prep. Ensure consistent implementation protocols for the creation and monitoring of classes and student/teacher accounts. </li><li>Oversee the execution of our Blended Learning/Intervention program (monitoring if students and teachers are using program consistently) </li><li>Provide support to students to facilitate their completion of learning programs, including written work and monitoring of computer-based assessments. </li><li>Collaborate and support teachers to implement learning programs within their classrooms, utilize common assessment and other open material, and assist with students needing additional support outside of the classroom. </li><li>Participates in meetings with various stakeholders as needed. </li><li>Provide consistent reporting to guidance counselors, and other school staff and stakeholders, regarding the progress of students completing courses. </li><li>Communicate with parents, guardians, families and other agencies on student progress. </li><li>Ensure that school technology is being handled properly and inventoried. </li><li>Oversee implementation of distance learning for students with extenuating circumstances and HiSET courseware for students in HiSET program. </li><li>Work with ESL and content teachers on implementing SEI strategies. </li><li>Represent the on-line learning component in WCST meetings. Oversee implementation of interventions. </li><li>Implement culturally responsive practices that ensure equitable learning opportunities for all students. </li></ul> <p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Non-Union, 12 Months Position Salary: $60,000.00- $64,000.00</p> <ul> <li>CERTIFICATE AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree Required. Massachusetts Teacher's Certification preferred. PHYSICAL DEMANDS (Special requirements such as lifting heavy objects and frequent climbing): Frequent fine motor use such as typing, filing.
