<p>Posting Number 0801805 Classification Title Summer Residential Counselor/Tutor Working Title Department Upward Bound Department Contact Email janene@centralstate.edu Job Summary/Basic Function</p> <p>Summary</p> <p>Summer Counselor will be responsible for supervision of Upward Bound participants when they move into Residence Hall. In addition, serve as tutor and counsel participants.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Participate in staff orientation week. Full participation is a condition of employment </li><li>Provide tutorial support for students enrolled in the courses to which you are assigned: Language Arts, Advance Composition, Mathematics, Science, World Language, American Government & History, etc. </li><li>Attend all classes to which you are assigned and assist the instructor in the classroom as needed </li><li>Provide out-of-class support, gathering materials, reviewing homework assignments, and tutoring students </li><li>Regularly meet with the instructors of the courses to which you are assigned </li><li>Remain highly visible to students and staff throughout the course of each day </li><li>Attend daily staff and community meetings </li><li>Complete necessary evaluation forms distributed by administrators </li><li>Assist in dorm/event set-up and clean up throughout the summer session </li><li>Communicate daily with staff members </li><li>Enforce Upward Bound rules and regulations </li><li>Live and work on-site for the duration of the summer program and training </li><li>Coordinate student activities and chaperone field trips </li><li>Carry out any other duties as assigned by the staff. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Education:Junior or senior in college or associate's degree or equivalent training and experience; demonstrated experience working summer camp; served as residential advisor or counselor</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Education: Associate degrees</p> <p>Experience with Upward Bound Program or U.S. Department of Education TRIO Programs.</p> <p>Posting Date 04/06/2026 Closing Date 05/15/2026 Open Until Filled No Special Instructions to Applicants</p> <p>All offer of employment at Central State University are contingent upon the successful completion of a comprehensive background check.
