<p>Title: Financial Administrator</p> <p>Location: Upper East Side</p> <p>Org Unit: Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care</p> <p>Work Days:</p> <p>Weekly Hours: 35.00</p> <p>Exemption Status: Exempt</p> <p>Salary Range: $115,800.00 - $130,550.00</p> <ul> <li>As required under NYC Human Rights Law Int 1208-2018 - Salary range for this role when Hired for NYC Offices </li></ul> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>Under guidance, the Financial Administrator is responsible for managing the financial affairs of the department.</p> <p>Job Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Oversees and/or approves procurement and disbursement/reimbursement activities. Ensures proper internal controls are in place around financial transactions. Resolves any financial issues as needed. </li><li>Implements financial policies, guidelines and operating procedures to ensure the continued fiscal integrity of the department. </li><li>Establishes operational benchmarks, metrics and productivity standards to streamline workflows and and identify improvement opportunities. </li><li>Ensures compliance with regulatory audits/inspections and/or internal reviews. Develops and recommends corrective action plans to address deficiencies identified. May serve as liaison to audit team(s) during on-site visits. </li><li>Creates and maintains operating budgets. </li><li>Prepares the annual budget submission and projections. Coordinates activities for the process of budgetary analysis and development. </li><li>Assists with the development of business plans. Monitors financial outcomes of approved business plans and makes recommendations for business plan revision to align income and expenses. Prepares financial documents in support of recommendations. </li><li>Prepares and interprets revenue and cost analyses of programs and activities. </li><li>Reviews and analyzes accounting and management reports to monitor variances from approved budget. Escalates review of unfavorable variances and recommends solutions. Implements and follows up on corrective action plans. </li><li>Reports on and analyzes equipment inventory, lease agreements and proposals, and space utilization. </li><li>As needed, processes financial transactions; serves as primary approver for payment requisitions, Shopping Cart approvals, change of funding, travel and business expenses, fund number creation, journal vouchers and PCard allocations. </li></ul> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <p>Approximately 7 years of progressively responsible experience in financial management, preferably in an academic healthcare or research setting or 5 years' experience, plus advanced degree in the finance field.</p> <p>Demonstrated experience with budget and strategic financial planning.</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated experience with budget and strategic financial planning. </li><li>Demonstrated experience with enterprise financial systems, database management and spreadsheet applications. </li></ul> <p>Licenses and Certifications</p> <p>Working Conditions/Physical Demands</p> <p>Standard office work</p> <p>Cornell welcomes students, faculty, and staff with diverse backgrounds from across the globe to pursue world-class education and career opportunities, to further the founding principle of "any person, any study."
