<p>SUMMARY: This position provides administrative support to the Center for Student Success (CSS), functioning as the front-line point of contact. Strong interpersonal skills are essential as is a desire to work in a higher educational setting interacting with a variety of students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors. This position is a full-time, non-exempt position that reports to the Executive Director for Student Success.</p> <p>This position is not exempt from provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is eligible to earn overtime pay for hours worked above 40 in a single work week. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Greet and assist guests of the Center for Student Success (CSS) by assessing their needs, answering questions, making appropriate referrals, and if necessary, scheduling appointments. </li><li>Support the Executive Director for Student Success with administrative tasks, such as managing the director's calendar, scheduling appointments and meetings, reserving rooms, and taking notes during Center meetings. </li><li>Additional administrative responsibilities include maintaining data, running reports, answering routine questions via telephone and email, ordering office supplies, and managing the CSS's SharePoint page. </li><li>Prepare and oversee logistics for Center for Student Success events/programming, including but not limited to obtaining IT services, parking, room reservations, and catering. </li><li>Assist the Director of Student Accessibility Services in the coordination of student exams. </li><li>Work with diverse student populations while maintaining sensitivity to the needs of individuals with disabilities. </li><li>Train and supervise work-study students, monitor their workflow and assignments. </li><li>Assist in managing CSS's budgets and assist with vendor purchases, reimbursement, travel expenses and reports. </li><li>Develop and initiate procedures and processes to streamline efficiency in CSS. </li></ul> <p>Nonessential Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Other duties and special projects may be assigned to meet department and university needs. </li></ul> <p>Required Experience, Knowledge, and Skills</p> <ul> <li>Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to establish rapport with students, faculty, staff, and parents. </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced setting during certain times in the semester. </li><li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. </li><li>Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize multiple competing tasks and demands. </li><li>Computer proficiency particularly in MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel </li><li>Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. </li><li>Proven ability to learn quickly and apply new processes and procedures. </li><li>Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Experience, Knowledge and Skills</p> <ul> <li>Prior experience delivering front line student services in a higher education environment preferred. </li><li>Prior experience working with students, especially those with disabilities. </li></ul> <p>Application Process</p> <p>Does this sound like a good fit?
