<p>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS</p> <ul> <li>Interpret and enforce all flag football rules </li><li>Safety and direct supervision of program participants </li><li>Perform set-up and take-down of program related equipment </li><li>Complete necessary paperwork specific to job responsibilities (attendance forms, accident/incident report forms, facility checklists, scorecards, etc.) </li><li>Invoke and impose penalties for violations of said rules </li><li>Make decisions on any point not specifically covered in said rules </li><li>Examine equipment and playing area </li></ul> <p>OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS</p> <ul> <li>Communicate clearly and effectively with players and coaches </li><li>Attend all required staff meetings and trainings </li><li>Work closely with the Parks and Recreation Department staff and volunteers to ensure all department rules and policies are observed </li><li>Must be currently enrolled as a Senior in High School </li><li>Physically capable of performing and demonstrating program related activities </li><li>Able to work duration of the program as assigned by supervisor </li><li>Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow staff members and the public in a courteous and tactful manner </li><li>Shall wear Parks and Recreation staff uniform per the City of Appleton dress code </li><li>Knowledge of the rules and officiating skills of the game of football </li><li>Ability to work accurately under pressure </li></ul> <p>Employment Period: September - October</p> <p>ADULT SPORT OFFICIAL II REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>Education Level Required: High School Graduate/GED</p> <p>Pay Grade 4; $17.53-$19.58/hour;</p> <ul> <li>Two years officiating experience </li></ul> <p>YOUTH SPORT OFFICIAL III REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>Education Level Required: High School Graduate/GED</p> <p>Grade 5: $19.59-$22.66/hour;</p> <ul> <li>Four years officiating experience or a combination of past experience at the junior high or high school level </li><li>Earned the respect of participants, coaches, and the public through past work in the department </li></ul> <p>WIAA Certified Sports Official: $30.91 per game</p> <p>Education Level Required: High School Graduate/GED</p> <p>At least 2-4 years of officiating experience</p>
