<p>Overview</p> <p>NOTE: This is an adjunct instructional position. Course assignments are made on a semester-by-semester basis and are contingent upon departmental needs, student enrollment, and scheduling availability. As such, hours are not guaranteed, and teaching opportunities may not be available immediately upon hire.</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY: Provide Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) Basic Rider curriculum instruction to students through a variety of delivery formats (e.g.: online, face to face, virtual computer conference) at Lakeshore College. Provide an exceptional customer service experience to both internal and external customers throughout every interaction.</p> <p>REASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONS/ADA: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Other duties may be assigned):</p> <p>(100%) Instruction</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for placing learning first and providing educational experiences for learners in various delivery formats, schedules, and in various places in accordance with the mission of the college inclusive of: facilitating learning of diverse students, assessing student performance, as well as instruction and outcomes, developing and maintaining current/relevant course materials, and communicating with the community, other schools, the college, the division, and team members. </li><li>Developing curriculum, including learning activities and assessments. </li><li>Work with curriculum coach to ensure state and Lakeshore design requirements are met. </li><li>Teaching/training in business and industry may be assigned. </li><li>Set up classroom and deliver MSF curriculum. </li><li>Maintain credentials with MSF and WI DOT. </li><li>Communicate learner progress with students. </li><li>Assess student performance. </li><li>Complete course documentation. </li><li>Set-up of the range for rider training. </li><li>Collect cones and return them upon completion of exercises. </li><li>Clean the range areas as needed to support rider training. </li><li>Provide basic range painting as needed to maintain the range exercises. </li><li>Ensure training ranges are maintained and course markings are consistent with program requirements. </li><li>Function as a liaison between Lakeshore College and the local riding community. </li><li>Be an advocate for Lakeshore College within the community. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum two years of recent experience riding motorcycles. </li><li>Completion of a Motorcycle Safety Foundations Rider Coach Prep class is required. </li><li>Must be certified by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation as a Rider Coach for the Basic Rider class and must possess a current Class M (Motorcycle) endorsement on their State of Wisconsin Driver's License. </li></ul> <p>CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSURE, REGISTRATION:</p> <ul> <li>Valid Wisconsin Driver's License with a current Class M (Motorcycle) endorsement is required. </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of Lakeshore's mission, vision, and strategic direction. </li></ul> <p>SKILLS</p> <ul> <li>Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.). </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Strong organizational and time management skills. </li><li>Effective interpersonal skills and customer service skills. </li><li>Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. </li></ul> <p>ABILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Adapt quickly to new and changing technology. </li><li>Perform work accurately and thoroughly, with a high level of accountability and attention to detail. </li><li>Work independently, as part of a team, and/or with minimal supervision. </li><li>Present self in a professional, ethical, and respectful manner at all times. </li><li>Use discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality. </li><li>Prioritize and manage multiple projects or tasks, maintaining deadlines. </li><li>Establish and maintain effective working relationships and relate successfully with staff, students, and all stakeholders. </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:</p> <ul> <li>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. </li><li>The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. </li><li>The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. </li><li>The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. </li><li>Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. </li><li>Work environment may require multi-tasking. </li><li>The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. </li></ul> <p>CONDITION(S) OF EMPLOYMENT:</p> <ul> <li>Employment conditional on completion of a Background Information Disclosure (BID) and a Motor Vehicle Record Check with the results acceptable to the College. </li><li>Valid State of Wisconsin driver's license with a current Class M (Motorcycle) endorsement is required. </li><li>Must meet and maintain Faculty Quality Assurance System (FQAS) requirements within 5 years of employment. </li></ul> <p>This job description is designed to cover the basic functions of the job and is not considered a detailed description of every job duty that is required, other duties may be assigned as needed.
