<p>At the present time, a vacancy exists for a full time Technology Support Specialist (Level 1, Tier 2) within the Information Technology (IT) Division of the Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU). This position provides technical support services for the entire organization. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.</p> <p>This role covers planning and delivery of customer support services for technologies including installation, troubleshooting, user assistance, and training. Functions may include diagnosing and resolving problems in response to customer reported incidents, planning and analysis of work processes, researching and reporting trends and patterns of problems, developing training materials and performing computing/information system training sessions, developing and maintaining problem tracking databases, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining hardware and software, performing backup and recovery operations, consulting with users to identify needs and requirements, conducting feasibility studies and trade-off analyses, preparing business cases, and ensuring the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices.</p> <p>Are you motivated to create brighter futures for students, families, and the entire community? At the CCIU, we pride ourselves on the creativity, dedication, and collaborative spirit that our employees bring to their work every day, and we know that achieving success together takes a team approach!</p> <p>We strive to hire exceptional, motivated, and passionate individuals that help us achieve our vision of acting as educational leaders who contribute to a better Chester County and beyond.</p> <p>If you are looking for an exciting, challenging opportunity to grow your career, don't wait - apply today to make Team CCIU even stronger tomorrow!</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Associate's Degree or higher in Computer Science or other relatable subject area; or equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred) </li><li>2 years related experience (required) </li><li>Proficiency in Mac/Apple, Windows, iOS, and Google environments (required) </li><li>Experience troubleshooting and supporting technologies (required) </li><li>Valid Driver's License (required) </li><li>Current child abuse, criminal history and FBI clearances (required - prior to hire) </li><li>Professional experience working within an educational setting (preferred) </li></ul> <p>Essential Job Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Troubleshoot and support a variety of device platforms and operating systems including but not limited to Mac computers, Windows computers, Chromebooks, iPads, tablets, cell phones, VoIP phones, scanners, printers, projectors, interactive whiteboards, various Audio Visual (AV) equipment, and more; learn how to support new devices as they are encountered. </li><li>Adapt to working in different schools and districts, quickly becoming productive upon acclimation. </li><li>Maintain documentation on work performed and procedures. </li><li>Apply technology skills and knowledge to new situations. </li><li>Respond to requests answering user questions; receive, document, and maintain a record of reported trouble in a problem-tracking database; follow-up as necessary. </li><li>Configure applications, system software, hardware, and local peripherals; diagnose and resolve various equipment problems. </li><li>Provide technical assistance to students, faculty, and staff in the use of computer hardware and software. </li><li>Implement security policies and protocols of the department. </li><li>Assist with user account administration, file rights management and backup/recovery policies and procedures. </li><li>Assist users with software issues. </li><li>Establish and resolve connectivity from devices and accounts to organization systems. </li><li>Facilitate users in obtaining access to systems and data, following IT policies. </li><li>Provide technical guidance to users. </li><li>Install applications, system software, hardware and local peripherals; diagnose and troubleshoot various equipment problems. </li><li>Provide guidance and solutions to user groups regarding email/collaboration systems, remote backups, etc. </li><li>Research present and future technologies. </li><li>Participate in the development of effective processes and procedures. </li><li>Follow policies to ensure reliable daily backup of end user data. </li><li>Encourage user self-reliance and "expert users", attempting to teach the user rather than simply solving the problem. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Salary: (Project, Level 13)</p> <ul> <li>Rates for 2024-25 SY (if starting before 6/30): $57,920 - $72,400 </li><li>Rates for 2025-26 SY (if starting 7/1 or later): $59,948-$74,934 </li><li>placement on level is based on comparable experience in a similar role </li></ul> <p>Schedule:</p> <ul> <li>7.5 hours per day/ 5 days per week (ex. 8 AM - 4 PM) </li><li>260 days/year </li></ul> <p>Primary Location:</p> <ul> <li>Educational Service Center in Downingtown, PA is the main office for the Information Technology (IT) Division.
