<p>Title: Assistant Men's Lacrosse Coach</p> <p>Department: Athletics</p> <p>Reports to: Head Men's Lacrosse Coach</p> <p>Category: Full-time, 12-month</p> <p>Summary/Objective</p> <p>Reporting to the Head Men's Lacrosse Coach, the Assistant Men's Lacrosse Coach is responsible for assisting with all aspects of an elite-level NCAA Division II lacrosse program. This requires the promotion of academic achievement and character of the student-athlete, fans, and the overall College community. The Assistant Men's Lacrosse Coach will be responsible for recruiting, budget management, athlete development, and all aspects of the lacrosse program pertaining to the rules of Lees-McRae College, Conference Carolinas, and NCAA Division II. A focus on recruitment and retention of student-athletes, game preparation, player development, generation of net tuition revenue, and meticulous budget management are essential for this position.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Assist with all day-to-day operations which includes preparation, organization and implementation of effective practice schedules, off-season programs and in-season competition. </li><li>Evaluation and recruitment of elite prospective student-athletes. </li><li>Training and development of all student-athletes. </li><li>Monitoring student-athletes' academic progress and growth as a person. </li><li>Individual workouts, conditioning, and strength training with team members. </li><li>Game day meal planning and organization. </li><li>Travel coordination for away games. </li><li>Investment in the lives and growth of student-athletes </li><li>Coordinate and direct single-day ID Camps and week-long summer camps. </li><li>Oversee the implementation of a developmental team in the future. </li><li>Other administrative duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Competencies</p> <ul> <li>Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. </li><li>Ability to work independently. </li><li>Must be able to work as a member of a team. </li><li>Detailed-oriented. </li><li>Goal-oriented. </li><li>Must be able to build relationships with prospective student-athletes and families, faculty and staff, community members, and external vendors. </li><li>Excellent communication and follow-up skills. </li><li>Must demonstrate entrepreneurial thinking. </li><li>Innovation and creativity. </li><li>Ability to maintain confidential information and files. </li></ul> <p>Supervisory Responsibility</p> <p>This position will not supervise anyone but may provide oversight for student assistants and/or managers.</p> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>Normal office environment in addition to non-traditional environment that includes outdoor lacrosse field, gymnasiums, weight room, locker room, and other venues.</p> <p>Position Type/Expected Hours of Work</p> <p>This is a full-time, 12-month position. Days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Frequent evening and weekend work is required for recruitment and games.</p> <p>Travel</p> <p>Extensive day and overnight travel is required as needed.
