<p>Apply</p> <p>Description</p> <p>St Croix Regional Medical Center is currently seeking a Clinical Informatics Specialist. Working shifts include Monday-Friday, standard business hours. This full-time position will be based in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin with periodic travel to community clinics as needed.</p> <p>This role requires on-site presence throughout first six months.Limited remote work may be available in the future, and will be subject to the needs & demands of the team.</p> <p>The Clinical Informatics Specialist provides and coordinates organization-wide training and support to clinical staff and end-users of the Epic (Excellian) EMR platform. This role is responsible for the onboarding of clinical staff and providers, as well as the ongoing training and support of Epic/Excellian at St. Croix Health. This role also serves as St. Croix Health's Epic/Excellian champion, subject matter expert, and Allina Affiliate liaison. The Clinical Informatics Specialist collaborates with clinical teams to understand and analyze EMR workflows, to design and create effective, efficient solutions that support organizational goals and improve patient experience. This role is part of Information Technology Team and acts as a liaison between IT and St. Croix Health's clinical practice.</p> <ol> <li>Facilitate and Manage Epic/Excellian User Access: </li></ol> <ul> <li>Ensure providers and staff have the appropriate user access permissions needed for their specific functions on day one, including the tools and applications required to fulfill the associated role. </li><li>Periodically review and update user lists and user access levels to ensure appropriate access and maintain data privacy and system security across multiple applications and toolsets. </li><li>Ensure timely deactivation of user accounts for individuals who leave the organization or no longer require access. </li></ul> <ol start="2"> <li>Provider Onboarding, Training, and Support: </li></ol> <ul> <li>Provide hands-on training sessions, allowing providers to practice using Epic/Excellian in a controlled environment. </li><li>Offer dedicated support during the initial onboarding phase to address any questions or issues providers may encounter. </li><li>Provide continuous support through helpdesk services, regular check-ins, and refresher training sessions as needed. </li><li>Offer personalized training sessions and support for users who need additional help or have specific questions. </li><li>Create and distribute training materials, user guides, and FAQs to support learning. </li><li>Customize set up for new employees Excellian needs for ordersets/smartsets, preferences, templates, professional fees/Level of service. Etc. </li><li>Attend medical staff meetings as needed to teach and promote efficiency and updates to clinical workflows. </li><li>Proactively maintain and update workflows, processes, and training materials to ensure accuracy; ensure key stakeholders within the provider groups are abreast of changes. </li></ul> <ol start="3"> <li>Epic/Excellian Champion and Subject Matter Expert: </li></ol> <ul> <li>Actively promote the benefits and importance of Epic/Excellian across the organization. </li><li>Provide ongoing education and refresher courses to keep staff updated on new features, best practices, and changes in the system. </li><li>Analyze current clinical workflows and identify ways to integrate and utilize Epic/Excellian more effectively, and to better align it with the specific needs and workflows of different departments and specialties. </li><li>Develop and disseminate best practice guidelines for Epic/Excellian use, based on clinical evidence and user feedback. </li><li>Continuously seek improvements of training materials, processes and methodology. Utilize new technology to develop new and efficient ways to deliver training to end-users. Keep abreast of the latest developments in EMR, informatics, and related clinical technology, ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of clinical innovation. </li></ul> <ol start="4"> <li>Allina Affiliate Liaison: </li></ol> <ul> <li>Regularly communicate with clinical staff to understand their needs, concerns, and suggestions related to Epic/Excellian and communicate back to Allina via the available affiliate channels. </li><li>Serve as a liaison between St. Croix Health and Allina Health, ensuring that SCH's needs, ideas, and feedback are communicated to Allina Health and vice versa. </li><li>Engage with key stakeholders, including department heads and senior management, to gather input and ensure alignment with organizational goals. </li></ul> <ol start="5"> <li>IT Liaison: </li></ol> <ul> <li>Facilitate clear and effective communication between clinical staff and IT, ensuring that both sides understand each other's needs and constraints. </li><li>Translate clinical requirements into technical specifications for IT projects and explain technical solutions and limitations to clinical staff in an understandable way. </li><li>Ensure timely escalation and resolution of critical issues by liaising between clinical staff and IT. </li><li>Coordinate system upgrades and updates, ensuring clinical staff are informed and trained on new features and changes. </li><li>Assist with the development and coordination of super-user groups to assist in testing, validation, and planning as it pertains to EMR upgrades and changes. </li><li>Stay informed about the latest trends in health informatics and technology, ensuring the organization benefits from innovative solutions. </li><li>Meet with outside vendors, receive education, and demonstrations on biomedical device integrations and determine if they interact with the Excellian EMR and clinical workflows. </li><li>While this job description is intended to be an accurate reflection of the job requirements, management reserves the right to modify, add or remove duties from particular jobs and to assign other duties as necessary. </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <p>Education & Licensure:</p> <ul> <li>RN License or equivalent education with Bachelor's degree from accredited four-year college or university preferred; and </li><li>Within one year of hire, obtain Allina credentialed trainer status for identified provider and nursing modules to provide instruction to St. Croix Health's clinical staff. </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum 3 years experience in a clinical healthcare environment; and </li><li>Experience with implementing, configuring, utilizing, and/or supporting Electronic Medical Record system; and </li><li>Previous training, project management and/or workflow analysis experience; and </li><li>Experience and strong acumen working within the Microsoft Office suite. </li></ul> <p>SKILLS</p> <ul> <li>Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents. </li><li>Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. </li><li>Writing - Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience </li><li>Speaking - Talking to others to convey information effectively. </li><li>Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. </li><li>Active Learning - Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making. </li><li>Monitoring - Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action. </li><li>Complex Problem Solving - Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. </li><li>Programming - Writing computer programs for various purposes. </li><li>Operation Monitoring - Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly. </li><li>Judgment and Decision Making - Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one. </li><li>Systems Analysis - Determining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes. </li><li>Systems Evaluation - Identifying measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the system. </li><li>Time Management - Managing one's own time and the time of others. </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE</p> <ul> <li>Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
