This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards, optimizes coding accuracy, and drives continuous education for coding professionals and providers. The manager serves as a strategic leader, collaborating with revenue cycle, compliance, and clinical documentation teams to maintain high-quality coding and documentation practices.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in HIM/ Healthcare Administration OR Equivalent Work Experience: 7 years progressive work experience in Coding and 2 years auditing and education experience in a coding or compliance department.</p> </li><li> <p>Expertise in ICD-10 CM/PCS, HCPCS, and CPT-4 coding systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Proven experience in developing and delivering educational programs in a healthcare setting.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and other third-party payer regulations related to coding guidelines.</p> </li><li> <p>Proficiency with coding and auditing software and EMR systems.</p> </li><li> <p>RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC - at least one of these credentials required</p> </li><li> <p>CPMA and/or CHC preferred</p> </li></ul> <p>Additional Job Description</p> <p>Education: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Work Experience: 7 years progressive work experience and 2 years management experience</p> <p>If you like working with energetic enthusiastic individuals, you will enjoy your career with us!</p> <p>The Medical University of South Carolina is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
