<p>What to Expect</p> <p>Tesla's Gigafactory Nevada is looking for a highly skilled and motivated New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineering Technician who will be responsible for ensuring a seamless launch of the newest Energy products and sub-components.</p> <p>What You'll Do</p> <ul> <li>The NPI Engineering Technician will be responsible for preparing materials and tools for performing NPI builds, trialing new materials and maintaining the various NPI core functions to a high standard </li><li>This person is expected to be able to execute efficiently against provided instructions, self-validate work for accuracy, check the quality of previous operations, and meet critical deadlines </li><li>The NPI Engineering Technician shall have the capacity to be able to provide constructive feedback, define/iterate standard work, and suggest process improvements </li><li>The NPI Engineering Technician will also support field investigations, instrumented/non-Plan of Record builds, and unique projects in support of our cross-functional teams </li><li>This role includes hands-on product build validation, collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure factory and line readiness as well as ensuring critical timelines are met through effective execution of key milestones </li><li>Experience with hand tools, machine tools, and use of semi-automated and automated manufacturing equipment is necessary Significant experience in (1) or more - electrical, automotive, energy and/or mechanical areas is a plus </li></ul> <p>What You'll Bring</p> <ul> <li>Support Engineering teams in early prototyping product phases and provide iterative feedback toward continuous product improvement objectives to ensure program success </li><li>Responsible for high quality activities, including self-inspection, and thorough inspection of the process in its entirety </li><li>Communicates test results, ideas, and problems to supervisor and engineers; able to be part of the solution </li><li>Typically involves a variety of operations (including troubleshooting and rework) requiring a sufficient understanding of the functional operation of the items assembled as well as the finished product </li><li>Perform varying degrees (basic to complex) of electro-mechanical assembly work and be able to work independently once a task is assigned, make connections with other employees, and work fluidly with the team to achieve great results </li><li>Support trials of new parts and materials to ensure seamless production implementation </li><li>Support the NPI team during all phases of product introduction (launch and sustaining) </li></ul> <p>Compensation and Benefits</p> <p>Benefits</p> <p>Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire:</p> <ul> <li>Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction </li><li>Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits </li><li>Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution </li><li>Company Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSA </li><li>Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) </li><li>401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits </li><li>Company paid Basic Life, AD&D </li><li>Short-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period) </li><li>Employee Assistance Program </li><li>Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid Holidays </li><li>Back-up childcare and parenting support resources </li><li>Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance </li><li>Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs </li><li>Tesla Babies program </li><li>Commuter benefits </li><li>Employee discounts and perks program </li></ul> <p>Tesla is an Equal Opportunity employer.
