<p>Ceres Unified School District</p> <p>CERES UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT</p> <p>JOB DESCRIPTION</p> <p>Title: Technology Specialist II </p> <p>Reports To: Director of Information Technology</p> <p>Salary: Range 49 </p> <p>Classification: Classified</p> <p>FLSA: Non-Exempt (hourly) </p> <p>Work Year: 12 Months – 261 Work Days</p> <p>Board Ratified: 3/12/15</p> <p>BASIC FUNCTION:</p> <p>Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Information Technology, performs and coordinates the necessary</p> <p>duties and functions to support technology for teaching and learning and to achieve the goals of the CUSD Technology</p> <p>Plan.</p> <p>REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:</p> <p>? Provide desktop support in classroom and office settings, including maintenance, repairs, deployment, and</p> <p>upgrades of computers, software, and network servers and design cost and time effective work flow processes</p> <p>for Computer Specialists I staff to complete these tasks and projects.</p> <p>? Maintain computer hardware inventory and tracking of software programs.</p> <p>? Assist the Network Administrator with creating and supporting technology and database user accounts,</p> <p>security for personal folders, and electronic mail.</p> <p>? Assist the Network Administrator with LAN/WAN support, troubleshooting, and server/system management.</p> <p>? Provide database users with technical support, assistance with queries, and security for the district Student</p> <p>Information System.</p> <p>? Develop and support district internet websites and webmasters by providing training, design support, and</p> <p>programming as needed.</p> <p>? Assist in the design, set-up, specification, and support of multi-media systems, including video, music, sound,</p> <p>animation, and other visual and/or learning presentation applications.</p> <p>? Provide computer hardware, program software, and web based user support and training.</p> <p>? Answer and respond to trouble calls on the Technology Help Desk and monitor the Help Desk to insure that all</p> <p>requests are addressed in a timely manner.</p> <p>? Provide technical support and training to Computer Specialists I staff both one-on-one and during meetings.</p> <p>? Research and analyze technical issues relevant to Ceres Unified technology and provide updates and</p> <p>recommendations to the Director of Information Technology on these issues including, but not limited to,</p> <p>deployment of hardware and software and the patches and fixes necessary to maintain these systems</p> <p>? Attend staff meetings and in-service training as appropriate.</p> <p>? Perform other related duties as assigned.</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:</p> <p>Knowledge of: Personal computers, hardware, related software, multi-media systems, and web based applications</p> <p>and functions.</p> <p>Ability to:</p> <p>? Set-up, operate, monitor, and maintain computer equipment.</p> <p>? Use software programs, computer hardware, and train others.</p> <p>? Read and understand equipment instructions and service manuals.</p> <p>? Troubleshoot, analyze, and research technology problems.</p> <p>? Understand and carry out oral and written directions and work independently without direct supervision.</p> <p>? Communicate effectively and accurately both orally and in writing.</p> <p>? Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers.</p> <p>? Speak, read, and write English.</p> <p>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:</p> <p>Education: High School Diploma or equivalent and training in computer technology.</p> <p>Experience: Requires five years of experience in using, maintaining, and working with computer technology, software</p> <p>programs, and electronic equipment.</p> <p>Special Requirements: Must possess a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator’s license and maintain the minimum</p> <p>state vehicle insurance.</p> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS:</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully</p> <p>perform the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities required by this job include</p> <p>close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
