<p>Description</p> <p>General Description:</p> <p>Under the direct supervision of Chief Pharmacy Officer, Inventory Control Specialist shall assist the pharmacist(s) in performing all routine tasks of the Pharmacy Department in accordance with established policies and procedures set forth within the constraints as stated by the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy. Specifically maintaining cost effective inventory while providing quality care.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Ensure that all items are appropriately received from the wholesaler, labeled correctly and placed in correct location on shelf </li><li>Contact wholesaler on all shorts, overages and mis picks </li><li>Reorder all shorts/mfg can't supply items </li><li>Fill all prescriptions that are special ordered or owed to patient </li><li>Record all daily totals </li><li>Copy invoices, scan to admin and file invoices on site </li><li>Remove, store and maintain all wholesaler files </li><li>Order daily items as needed via usage report </li><li>Walk shelves to determine daily order </li><li>Maintain daily refrigerator sheets </li><li>Check expiration dates of stocked items </li><li>Process returns to wholesaler as needed </li><li>Maintain credit memos </li><li>Load robot </li><li>Run daily 340b pharmacy audit reports </li><li>Performs other related work as required </li><li>Perform cycle counts </li></ul> <p>Reporting Relationships:</p> <p>Responsible to:</p> <ul> <li>Directly supervised by Chief Pharmacy Officer and Pharmacy Operations Manager </li></ul> <p>Workers supervised:</p> <ul> <li>N/A </li></ul> <p>Interrelationships:</p> <ul> <li>Works in cooperation with the pharmacy staff, medical staff, nursing staff, and effectively serves patients. </li></ul> <p>This job description is not designed to cover or contain an exhaustive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice.</p> <p>Requirements</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>All employees of Carolina Health Centers, Inc. are expected to perform the duties of their job and behave in a manner consistent with the Corporate Philosophy which supports the values of: honesty, integrity, openness, the pursuit of individual and collective excellence, and unwavering mutual respect and appreciation.</p> <p>In addition, this position requires:</p> <ul> <li>Education: </li><li>High School Diploma or equivalent </li><li>Work Experience: </li><li>At least three years' experience as pharmacy technician </li><li>Licensure and Credentials: </li><li>Desire National Pharmacy Technician Board Certification </li><li>Desire South Carolina Board of Pharmacy Certification </li><li>Skills: </li><li>Able to read, write, and communicate effectively orally and in writing. </li><li>Proficient in use of computer and keyboard </li><li>Able to conduct payment transactions efficiently and accurately, including making correct change for cash payments. </li><li>Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships. </li><li>Knowledge of HIPAA and ability to maintain confidentiality. </li><li>Able to manage self and environment calmly and appropriately in stressful situations. </li><li>Physical Abilities: </li><li>Stand for extended periods of time </li><li>Able to push, pull and reach, sit, stoop and stretch </li><li>Have full range of body motion </li><li>Have the hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity needed to operate a computer, telephone, copier and medical equipment </li><li>Required to talk and hear </li><li>Vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus </li><li>Work Environment: </li></ul> <p>This position involves exposure to customer/patient elements. This job also operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard Office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The work environment is that of a hometown community pharmacy with high expectations of excellent customer service and work ethic. HIPAA rules and regulations are stringently enforced, and violations are grounds for dismissal. The position requires staff to work under pressure at times with a diverse population. Teamwork, customer service and paying close attention to detail is required to promote an environment that will provide the highest level of quality care to customers.</p>
