This position is 100% 4-H Youth Development. This position will be responsible for planning, implementing, evaluating and reporting county extension 4-H educational programs especially in the context of livestock. The candidate will be responsible for educating youth about livestock management, evaluation and showmanship. In addition, this position includes planning, executing, and evaluating program, events, and activities through traditional 4-H clubs, project groups, educational workshops, camps, conference, and special interest classes. Program delivery methods will involve volunteer recruitment, site and home visits, phone calls, workshops, newsletters, media, etc. The Extension Agent will develop and maintain good public relations with educational officials, collaborative agencies, program sponsors and elected and appointed officials. This position will plan, execute and evaluate the 4-H programs based on County, State and Federal Programs and clientele needs. The successful candidate will perform other related duties as required by County and Regional, and State Extension Administrators.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Family & Consumer Sciences, Education, or closely related field is required. Experience in Extension, teaching or other youth development activities is preferred. Ability to work a flexible schedule which will include some nights, weekends, and overnight travel. Access to a personal vehicle and the ability to obtain/maintain a valid Tennessee driver's license.
