<p>Job Summary</p> <p>Responsible for the proper maintenance and repair of the mechanical systems and accessory components to ensure proper certification, licensing and continuous operation. Installs, maintains, and repairs elevator equipment, controls, lighting and circuits. Ensures work in in accordance with NAVFAC MO-118 and ASME A17.2.</p> <p>Primary Job Functions</p> <ul> <li>Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on electrical support equipment. </li><li>Locates and determines causes of trouble in brakes, motors, switches and signal and control systems using test lamps, ammeters, and voltmeters. Maintains and repairs elevators, lifts and similar equipment. Replace cables, elevator doors, perform major modernization and alteration work, such as replacing electric motors, hydraulic pumps, and control panels. </li><li>Operates elevator to determine power demand and tests power consumption to detect overload factors. </li><li>Performs acceptance and routine inspections, conducts annual testing required in accordance with contract requirements. </li><li>Cleans machine room and elevator pits. </li><li>Disassembles defective units and repairs or replaces parts including locks, gears, cables and faulty safety devices. </li><li>Lubricates bearings and other parts to minimize friction. </li></ul> <p>Education, Experience and Certification</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED </li><li>5 years of experience in the maintenance of Vertical Transportation Equipment. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, constant arm extensions. </li><li>Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, but none to the point of being disagreeable. May involve minor safety hazards where likely result would be cuts, bruises, etc. </li><li>Must be able to pass a local background check and have the ability to obtain and maintain clearance after hire. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Ability to read and understand blueprints. </li><li>Knowledge of and ability to work with various hand tools to install/repair elevators </li><li>Able to understand verbal or written direction from lead, supervisor or other craftsmen </li></ul> <p>Disclaimer</p> <p>CBRE Government and Defense is thrilled at the opportunity for you to apply to one of our roles.
