<p>Job Overview:</p> <p>We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineering Intern to support our engineering team with design, analysis, testing, and documentation of mechanical systems and components. This internship provides hands-on experience working on real-world engineering projects in a collaborative environment and will perform a variety of engineering work in the initial planning and design phases of projects.</p> <p>This is a temporary position.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:</p> <ul> <li>Work activities include collection and interpretation of engineering data, development of project design basis, development of specifications, and performance of detailed engineering. </li><li>Ensures conformance to applicable engineering codes and standards as well as company policies and procedures. </li><li>Is aware of costs and schedule related to own work. </li><li>Communicates information, asks questions and checks for understanding. </li><li>Contributes to a team environment </li><li>Assist in the design and development of mechanical components and systems </li><li>Create and revise 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings (e.g., AutoCAD, REVIT, MicroStation) </li><li>Support engineering analysis, testing, and validation activities </li><li>Collect, analyze, and organize technical data </li><li>Assist with testing </li><li>Prepare engineering documentation and reports </li><li>Participate in design reviews and team meetings </li><li>Follow company safety and quality standards </li></ul> <p>Basic Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Has basic knowledge of theories, practices and procedures in mechanical engineering. </li><li>Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and technical engineering software, some CADD experience (AutoCAD, REVIT and/or MicroStation) along with good verbal and writing skills. </li><li>Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering </li><li>Completed at least one year of engineering coursework </li><li>Basic understanding of theories, practices and procedures in mechanical engineering. </li><li>Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills </li><li>Ability to work independently and in a team environment </li><li>FE and EIT candidates preferred. </li><li>Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA with at least 60 hours of coursework completed </li><li>Must be at least 18 years of age </li><li>Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills </li><li>Must be a self-starter, excel in time management, and work well under pressure </li><li>Ability to work independently and in a diverse team setting </li><li>Willingness to work across Engineering disciplines </li><li>Strong multitasking skills </li><li>Strong problem-solving skills </li></ul> <p>ABOUT APTIM</p> <p>APTIM is committed to accelerating the transition toward a clean and efficient energy economy, building a sustainable future for our communities and natural world, and creating a more inclusive and equitable environment that celebrates the diversity of our communities.
