<p>Position Summary</p> <p>This position is under the general supervision of the Chief Surveying and Mapping Engineer and is responsible for supporting the work of region survey, plat, and data coordinators reviewing and guiding the survey work of others in support of delivering the improvement program.</p> <p>Duties include modernizing survey practices and procedures; developing consistency between regions; developing and reviewing contract special provisions; conducting quality review checks; reviewing plats; monitoring performance standards; maintaining survey data workflows and standard feature code libraries; supporting region survey hardware and software purchasing / maintenance / licensing; and supporting other functions of the Geodetic Surveys Unit and Surveying & Mapping Section. This position resides in the Geodetic Surveys Unit and works closely with other unit staff; region Survey Coordinators, Plat Coordinators, Data Coordinators, and Technical Application Specialists; the Photogrammetry Unit; and the Bureau of Project Development Methods Development Unit.</p> <p>To review the full position description, please email Sonam Lhanze at sonam1.lhanze@dot.wi.gov</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>This Senior level is in schedule-range (14-14) with an annual salary of $62,400 - $74,984, plus excellent benefits.</p> <p>The Advanced level is in schedule-range (14-13) with an annual salary of $78,894 - $92,123, plus excellent benefits.</p> <p>A twelve-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.</p> <p>Job Details</p> <p>WisDOT does not sponsor work visas. WisDOT is not an E-verify employer.</p> <p>Prior to any appointments for position(s) filled from this announcement, candidates may be subject to a comprehensive criminal background check which may include FBI fingerprinting.</p> <p>This position offers a hybridized work schedule. The position will be headquartered at and required to work from the Madison, WI office at least 2 days per week. All employees working a hybrid work schedule are still expected to telework from within the State of Wisconsin. This topic will be discussed more at the time of the interview.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Qualified applicants at the Senior level will have experience with all the following:</p> <ul> <li>Establishing horizontal and vertical control with horizontal coordinates/elevation </li><li>Using robotic total station and GPS equipment </li><li>Using computer programs such as Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, or other related programs to process survey data </li></ul> <p>Qualified applicants at the Advanced level will have the above criteria in addition to the following:</p> <ul> <li>A current Wisconsin Professional Land Surveyor License </li></ul> <p>How To Apply</p> <p>Apply online!
