In this position, you will work in an Integrated Co-Taught class or a smaller special education class and be responsible for supporting instruction; supervising students; assisting the classroom teacher in designing and implementing lesson plans; preparing lesson material; and supporting students individually, in small groups, and in large groups to support student learning. Our elementary schools spans grades K-5, and offer rich and varied educational programs, along with an active, supportive parent body.</p> <p>The successful candidate must enjoy working with children and be devoted to building a nurturing and safe learning environment. We would encourage you to apply, even if you don't believe you meet every one of our qualifications described.</p> <p>Job Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Assist classroom teachers with lesson planning and preparation. </li><li>Revise and adapt lessons to address student learning differences. </li><li>Assist students with special needs in all aspects of classroom instruction to maximize inclusion, learning, achievement of IEP objectives, etc. </li><li>Participate in the IEP process and serve as a resource for the student evaluation team as needed. </li><li>Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce basic learning and implement assigned programs. </li><li>Assist in classroom preparations and strategies for reinforcing instructional materials and skills according to individual student needs. </li><li>Assist with record-keeping procedures to document student learning and performance. </li><li>Overseeing students during non-instructional times including in-between classes, during lunch/recess, and on-field trips. </li><li>Collaborate with classroom teachers to recognize issues students are facing and recommend solutions. </li><li>Attend training classes, parent conferences, and faculty meetings. </li></ul> <p>Note: The above description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities.
