<p>Job Title: Sanitation Manager</p> <p>Department: Operations</p> <p>Reports to: Plant Manager</p> <p>Job Summary: The Sanitation Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing sanitation programs in the plant. This role includes managing janitorial and sanitation operations, training and supervising staff, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and continuously improving sanitation processes.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential functions/duty satisfactorily. Other duties/functions may be added or assigned.</p> <ul> <li>Oversee and manage plant manufacturing operations within the plant regarding sanitation and janitorial processes. </li><li>Responsible for training and monitoring employees in their use of the chemical program, including adherence to proper safety procedures and the proper use of the personal protective equipment (PPE). </li><li>Determine and maintain efficient production processes which will include writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with visual controls and train to these processes. </li><li>Provide leadership throughout the department, promoting a positive work environment for both janitorial and sanitation team members. </li><li>Obtain and maintain operational excellence, this individual will provide leadership in establishing metrics, driving process improvements, and developing team members to reach their potential. </li><li>Responsible for properly scheduling personnel to ensure sanitation processes within the plant are up to specifications and proper coverage is met at each shift in a 24/7 facility. </li><li>Train, develop, coach, and supervise the team within the department to ensure safe and effective sanitation practices. </li><li>Perform analytical and subjective audits of the sanitation process to monitor compliance of current good manufacturing practices (CGMPs) regarding sanitary controls. </li><li>Negotiate, schedule, execute and monitor the facilities' pest control program. </li><li>Manage and oversee the third-party uniform companies and controlling costs. </li><li>Oversee and keep the master sanitation schedule (MSS) documentation current and updated. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>SAFETY REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:</p> <ul> <li>Comply with the Environmental Health Safety & Security (EHS&S) policies and applicable regulatory and company EHS&S rules and requirements. </li><li>Report to supervision conditions or practices that are either unsafe or that may adversely impact the environment, to ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards. </li><li>Attend scheduled EHS&S training program. </li><li>Actively support the organization's efforts to meet or exceed EHS&S goals and plans. </li><li>Recommend improved EHS&S practices. </li><li>Practices safe work habits and follows general safety procedures such as proper lifting and bending, ergonomics, proper use of equipment and use of personal protection equipment (PPE). </li><li>Adheres to and ensures lockout procedures are followed any time the equipment is being cleaned or maintained. </li></ul> <p>PRODUCT SAFETY AND QUALITY</p> <ul> <li>Place high priority on food safety, quality, and sanitation by understanding and executing Thrive Freeze Dry's food safety, quality, and sanitation policies and procedures. </li><li>Hold self and others accountable to Thrive Freeze Dry food safety, quality, & sanitation guidelines and policies by communicating any food safety or quality incident, observation, or opportunity to your leadership team or teammates. </li><li>Adheres to and ensures Product Safety and Quality standards are followed. </li><li>Adheres to and ensures GMP's regarding food contact packaging as it pertains to the employee. </li><li>Adheres to and ensures Thrives food safety, product defense standards and quality objectives complies with all SQF system requirements. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (include education, experience, special skills, licenses and/or certifications required.)</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of five years of quality or food safety experience in food manufacturing facility with at least three years in a leadership capacity and demonstrating progressively responsible roles. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in food science, environmental health, food safety or related field. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others by establishing and carrying out metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). </li><li>Ability to think ahead, plan and prepare action plans to achieve results. </li><li>Proven ability to balance and achieve positive results in safety, quality, productivity, cost, and employee relations using Lean, Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma, etc. </li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain strong attention to detail. </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to perform the following functions with or without accommodations:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks. </li><li>Ability to work varied shifts. </li><li>Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and frequent fine finger dexterity. </li><li>Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. </li><li>The responsibilities and duties must be carried out on-site at our facility. Remote work is not an option for this position due to the nature of the tasks and the need for direct interaction with equipment, team members, and on-site processes. </li><li>Must be able to wear and use the required personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety shoes, hairnets, beard snoods (if applicable), smocks, and other safety gear as needed to maintain hygiene and safety standards </li><li>Must have the ability to work in varying temperature conditions.
