<p>Facilitates the smooth running of the nursing unit by performing a broad range of clerical duties; transcribes medical orders, maintains medical records, communicates effectively, and assists in providing a safe and efficient unit. Ensures the accuracy and efficiency of registration of patients for outpatient procedures and in-house admissions.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. </li><li>Answer questions regarding services, policies, and procedures, providing accurate information. </li><li>Act as a liaison between patients, families, and medical staff, relaying messages and updates as needed. </li><li>Assist in scheduling appointments, coordinating admissions, and managing patient flow within the unit. </li><li>Address and resolve patient concerns or complaints promptly and professionally, escalating issues to management when necessary. </li><li>Maintain a calm demeanor in high-pressure situations, ensuring patient needs are prioritized. </li><li>Perform clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and maintaining patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations. </li><li>Assist with insurance verification and billing inquiries, ensuring patients understand their coverage and financial responsibilities. </li><li>Work collaboratively with nursing staff, physicians, and other departments to ensure efficient patient care and service delivery. </li><li>Participate in unit meetings and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills related to customer service and patient care. </li></ul> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or </li><li>GED </li></ul> <p>Certification</p> <ul> <li>Basic Life Support (BLS) American Red Cross or American Heart Association </li></ul>
