<p>This job will be accepting job applications until the position is filled.</p> <p>Hourly:</p> <p>$22.46 - $24.03</p> <p>Department:</p> <p>Culture & Recreation, Recreation</p> <p>Division:</p> <p>Recreation Administration</p> <p>FLSA:</p> <p>Non-Exempt</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>This role will assist in all marketing and promotional efforts of the department and help to coordinate special events for parks, recreation facilities and community centers.</p> <p>Examples of Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Assists in social media, email and web marketing efforts. </li><li>Helps develop a strategic messaging calendar (social media, email blasts, reader boards, etc.). </li><li>Creates, designs and distributes marketing materials as needed. </li><li>Assists in planning and designing seasonal recreation guides. </li><li>Assists in organizing and executing seasonal special events. </li><li>Collects quantitative and qualitative data from marketing campaigns, programs, and events. </li><li>Photographs and video records aspects of special events. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Basic Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree (AA/AS) or equivalent combination of education and experience. </li><li>Able to utilize Microsoft Office software and Google Drive. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience with Adobe and Canva software. </li><li>3 months prior experience. </li></ul> <p>Other Necessary Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Evening and weekend work required. </li><li>In the event of major storms or other emergency situations, this position may be subject to 24-hour shifts or any other emergency schedule that is necessary to meet the City's needs. </li></ul> <p>The City of Charleston is firmly committed to Equal Employment Opportunity ( EEOC) as a fundamental policy to be implemented and observed in our daily operation.
