Yes VP Area President Department 00312 - Cr-Outdoor Program Location Campus City Salt Lake City, UT Type of Recruitment External Posting Pay Rate Range 12.00 Close Date 06/27/2026 Priority Review Date (Note - Posting may close at any time) Job Summary</p> <p>The Outdoor Adventures Attendants are responsible for the day-to-day operations including customer service, equipment rental, point of sale, equipment storage, repair and maintenance of equipment. Outdoor Adventures Attendants must be friendly and enthusiastic about the outdoors. They must have good written and verbal communication skills, possess patience and provide excellent customer service.</p> <p>Campus Recreation Services is located at the George S. Eccles Student Life Center, which connects student Life with academic life to create an engaged campus community. Amenities include a 50-meter pool, indoor and outdoor leisure pools, large indoor hot tub/spa, 320-yard indoor running track, bouldering and 4-story climbing wall, 5 sport courts, racquetball courts, 4 group fitness studios, and a combative room. Additional amenities include a Shake Smart, four sand volleyball courts and an outdoor basketball court.</p> <p>Student Affairs is comprised of over 20 departments and is focused on supporting student well-being and success with the ultimate goal of assisting students in discovering their passion, people, and purpose. To that end, we aim to foster an environment that encourages employees to embrace innovative service delivery methods to best meet the needs of our students. As a result, students have the opportunity to participate in the creation of campus culture, collaboratively working alongside professional staff, student leaders, and academic partners.</p> <p>Student Affairs grounds its programs, procedures, and policies in practices that foster respect, fairness, and belonging. This position is work-study eligible; however, work-study participation is not required.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Know the function, use and design of all of the different OA rental equipment </li><li>Be knowledgeable of all University and Campus Recreation Services policies and is willing to enforce and uphold them </li><li>Provide knowledgeable customer service for a wide variety of services and programs </li><li>Demonstrate proper use and care of equipment to rental customers </li><li>Operate rental software, including payments and inventory management </li><li>Process equipment reservations over the phone and in person </li><li>Make decisions regarding lost, damaged, or dirty equipment and determine appropriate fines and handle other special circumstances </li><li>Ensure that the rental shop is neat and presentable, with equipment stored in the appropriate places </li><li>Open and close the facility as directed </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Current University of Utah student </li><li>Excellent people and communication skills </li><li>Identifies as an outdoor enthusiast </li><li>CPR certification or the ability to complete via in house within one month </li></ul> <p>Preferences</p> <ul> <li>Ability to work throughout Summer Semester </li></ul> <p>Special Instructions Summary Additional Information</p> <p>The University is a participating employer with Utah Retirement Systems ("URS").
