<p>Description</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <ul> <li>Under the direction of Plant Operations Supervisor, performs a wide variety of general maintenance repair and construction duties </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Assembles furniture </li><li>Moves furniture </li><li>Assist Electrician </li><li>Assist Plumber </li><li>Assist all others as needed </li></ul> <p>Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Cleans and repairs heating and air conditioning units </li><li>Performs a variety of routine preventive maintenance items, replacing filters, belts, light bulbs and oiling motors, etc., as required </li><li>Repairs pumps, air compressors, exhaust fans, water softeners, etc. </li><li>Assists in the repair of boilers under direct supervision </li><li>Assists in the repair of electrical controls under direct supervision </li><li>Assembles, moves and installs furniture, fixtures and equipment </li><li>Assists in maintenance of hospital grounds; painting curbs, snow removal, lawns, etc. </li><li>Repairs thermostats and air operated controls </li><li>Performs a variety of minor repairs to miscellaneous hospital equipment such as beds, carts, kitchen equipment, toilet fixtures, etc. </li><li>Performs a variety of basic carpentry duties, building walls, hanging doors, installing locksets, etc. </li><li>Performs all other related duties as requested or required by the Plant Operations Supervisor </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>Equivalent to four (4) years of high school or vocational trades training </li><li>Must have knowledge of basic electricity and plumbing. Ability to read blueprints is desirable </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>Requires a minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of experience in general mechanical or construction position </li><li>Must have a valid Ohio driver's license </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li>Work involves application of manual skills in the use of hand and/or power tools </li><li>Duties may involve intermittent exertion of moderate to heavy manual effort in moving bulking equipment </li><li>Visual acuity is required to read test instruments and gauges </li><li>Duties may involve working in cramped quarters with exposure to dust, odors and chemical fumes. Some work may be performed out of doors with exposure to weather extremes </li></ul>
