<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Job Title: Academic Interventionist</p> <p>Reports To: Assistant Superintendent, Building Principal(s)</p> <p>Location: Tuttle Elementary</p> <p>Education: Bachelor's degree required, experience with scientifically research based interventionist preferred. Teacher certification required</p> <p>Responsibilities: Instruct small groups of students within MTSS model, including IEP students. To support student achievement in Math and/or ELA through the delivery of personalized tutoring in a multi-tiered system of support.</p> <p>This position is full-time. Visit www.east-haven.k12.ct.us for more information.</p> <p>Experience and Skills Required fro the Position: Must have an in-depth knowledge of:</p> <ul> <li>Common Core State Standard for ELA and Math </li><li>Teacher centered instructional data teams </li><li>Acadience Math and DIBELS </li><li>Small group instructional practices </li><li>Effective teaching strategies for reading and math </li><li>Developing standards based lessons </li><li>Differentiation </li><li>Record-keeping </li><li>Assessment (summative, formative, diagnostic) </li><li>CSDE Interim Benchmark assessments </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications/Skills and Knowledge Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Works with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of materials or skills initially introduced </li><li>Ensures effective implementation of 6-8 week data team cycles and supports the building and district wide data team in continuous improvement cycles </li><li>Plans and implements lessons and individualized student instructional plans in alignment with identified needs based on the East Haven SRBI process </li><li>Maintains all records and communicates regularly with the classroom teacher to coordinate tiered interventions with classroom (tier one) instruction to ensure maximum impact on student achievement </li><li>Attends grade level and/or departmental data team meetings and supports push-in instruction where applicable during the reading and math workshop </li><li>Analyzes and aggregates student achievement data to support ongoing program review and instructional planning. </li><li>Integrates special strategies for reinforcing learning materials and skills through student centered planning based on individual student's needs, interests, and abilities. </li><li>Monitors and provides feedback on work, including regular reporting and progress monitoring in alignment with the district SRBI protocols </li><li>Administers all progress monitoring and provides regular reports of student progress </li><li>Assists in the administration of benchmark and curriculum-based testing </li><li>Alerts the certified staff to any problem or special information about an individual student </li><li>Performs assigned non-instructional classroom duties </li><li>Serves as a core member of the Early Intervention Team and/or IEP/SRBI/ESL teams </li><li>Demonstrates ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students in the school environment and community </li><li>Participates in training programs as approved </li><li>Maintains a safe working environment and encourages colleagues to be safety-minded in the performance of all school-related duties </li><li>Performs other such duties-assignments in service of ongoing student achievement, as outlined by the building leadership team </li><li>Collaborates with the Literacy and Math coaches on a regular basis to ensure all interventions are aligned with best practices </li><li>Assists in the effort to successfully maintain students with special need in and integrated setting, as determined by the IEP-SRBI/ESL Team(s). </li></ul> <p>We strongly encourage applications from individuals belonging to historically marginalized groups, including racial and ethnic minorities, women, individuals with disabilities, and veterans.
